Stab his eyes out with ice picks and let him bleed out. That dude is a fricking sociopath.

I researched this stuff after reading this thread when it started. Does that make me sick?

I don't think it's a crime
A surgeon in Shreveport was guilty of this. His wife usually took the kid to daycare and he just forgot. He didn't get arrested. My friend is friends with them. They were totally distraught

This situation is clearly not that situation.

read the updates
it appears the Dad left his kid in the car with the intent for the child to die

This thread is almost 30 pages. It would be less than 5 if it were a simple accident.
Do TD a favor and actually read up on the situation before posting your baseless opinion.

Read the updates. The dad actually googled to find out how long it takes for an animal to die in a hot car(this was taken off his work computer). Security cameras show him going to his car at lunch.
It's been all over the news now. This isn't just a simple case of he forgot the child. He did it on purpose.
I mean...they have video of him going to Chick Fila with his son (they went inside to eat) before going to work...the chick fil a is less than half a mile from his work(you can see his office building from Chick Fila).
How can you "forget" your child after you just strapped him back into his carseat 5 minutes ago?

the time frame really isn't that big a deal IMO. When your brain goes into the autopilot mode or you start thinking about something else 5 minutes or 30 minutes doesn't really effect that.
I've driven by a gas station literally one minute after i thought to myself - oh shite i'm about to run out of gas, need to hit up the one on lake. I know gas and child aren't the same, just an example.
Also does anyone know when that search about how long it takes something to die in a car took place?

But they have proof he went to his car at lunch.
Yet didn't see his child? There is security footage of him going to his car during his lunch break.
You guys still gonna defend this POS??

I read the op and replied to one of the first few posts asking if it was a crime
Doesn't matter what came out after. The question was asked according to what was in the op

My opinion was not baseless. I answered a question posed on page one
Maybe op should have updated

Aww. That's even more tragic, for the child. But disturbing from the father.

I'm not defending him, just saying all we are doing is speculating without all the facts.
I think it seems he likely did it on purpose, but all the evidence we see is circumstantial with the internet search being the biggest red flag. He went to his car at lunch. Did he just open the door and throw a coffee cup on the seat or did he go in and open the center console to look for something. Two very different scenarios and in the first scenario it is very likely he wouldn't have seen the kid in a rear facing child seat if that is the way it played out.
There should be some sort of motive or reason for this, which i am sure will be outlined once all the facts are understood and the investigation is finished. Particularly in light of the way those who knew him are reacting to this - unless he just had some serious issues that he kept to himself which is certainly possible.

Toddlers don't sit in rear facing seats
Posted on 6/28/14 at 3:49 pm to GRTiger
For those who have researched this, I have a question :
does the body overheat more quickly after a meal, say one from a chickfila, than on an empty stomach?
If true, this could support the intent the state is looking for.

Child was 22 months old.
NTSB recommends not facing a child forward until they're 2 years old FWIW.
