I received a notification that if I can’t complete a 911 call then call an alternate number which they gave, It was a normal 10 digit number with area code.

My wife and I are on the same plan, have the same phone. She gets two or three bars and is able to make calls. I’m on SOS. I know this is probably a recurring theme for some but it’s just puzzling.

They are reporting there are approximately 70,000 ATT outages?
What
It has to be several times that correct?

I just did an online chat with a verizon rep to check out pricing. She said verizon does not have any outages. This may be my final reason to leave AT&T.

That’s the amount of reports received by DownDetector. Their numbers are based on self-reporting by users.

Somebody needs to go wake Prahad’s arse up because whatever he deployed last night needs to be retested.

What is really baffling to me is, this is a nationwide outage/issue, and we are on what 7-8hrs with no ETA when the issue will be resolved, no comment about what the issue really even is. Just nothing other than them saying “we know there is a problem”
I’ve for sure heard/seen outages that’s not uncommon but a nationwide outage for this long?

quote:Best I can tell that number is coming from self-reported outages at downdetector, and I think it's being misinterpreted at that. The way I read it is the AT&T outage reports *peaked* around 70k reports every 15 minutes. I don't see a total or 24h count of reports, but it looks to me that there have been an average of about 40k reports per 15 minutes for the last 6+ hours. That's over a million self-reported outage reports. Actual outages are likely many times that.
