If I'm that frail in my mid 50s I'm already rethinking that I should have been in better shape.

Just how frail do you think the average 55 year old is?

I agree. Though if my current GF really wanted to get married I'd think about it

I say that because a co-worker in his 50's got divorced years ago and swore off of marriage. Not long ago he fell down the steps into his garage and his foot was caught between the boards so he was basically stuck there -in pain-for awhile.

I joked with him saying "See, if you had a woman in the house she could've helped you."

Right, most divorced people will say that. I’m just saying most people will think someone who is in their 50’s and never got married is weirder than someone who did and got divorced

I’m almost 50, never married, no kids. Not that I didn’t want those things, but this is just how my life worked out. If I meet someone, fine. But, I don’t put my life on hold waiting for those things.

If you never get married and have kids that's fine.

I've known plenty of women with and without money who can't be alone for whatever reason. The attention, spending someone else's money....whatever.

I'm an identical twin male and my brother can't stand being alone. He will marry whomever gets his dick wet. It is sad. It's not just females. I am the exact opposite. I married, never wanting to, because it just happened. Everything just came together. You'll know if it's right. Everybody saying no, no.....I was there and agree, but life throws wicked curveballs. I'm am 100% ok in my decision in my late 30's.

I have no problem with my job being my life.

I feel like I am too patient on the love thing. I wait for ladies that seem worthy, the hesitate to make my move.

Disagree, and I say that as someone happily married with 2 kids who are my world.

I have a friend who's been happily married for over a decade. They're the type of couple who see genuinely best friends with each other and do everything together. Neither wants kids, and they spend their time traveling and generally being carefree outside of work. They're both now in their mid to late 40s so it's probably to the point where it's too late for them to have kids outside of adoption. Maybe they'll regret not having kids later in life, but that's on them. If they're happy, then that's all that matters.

I love my kids more than anything but having kids isn't for everyone, and far be it from me to judge anyone who doesn't want to make that choice and take on that responsibility.

A cell phone would help in this situation. No need to get married just for that. Pretty expensive proposition.

I always feel kinda sorry for the wives of the married men on here who always post that you shouldn’t even marry unless you want kids.

When I met Aubrey, I couldn't keep my mind on nothin' else.
I thank the world for the good thing I've found, and if she's is bad, I can't see it. She can do no wrong.

Why? Society has urged this since the change of the century.

Marriage is a bad deal for a man, but regardless of that fact, many still go on with it because we truly do love the person we are with.

Cause they are basically saying main reason they married their wives is they wanted kids.
Kids was the main motivator.

Pretty sad bro.

All of us want that occasional freedom, but the thought of doing the same shite at 39 as I did at 25 sounds completely miserable. Even now after a night or 2 on a guys trip it gets old.

Kids aren't my number one motivator, but in the top 3.

My primary reason is my thought of how marriage is an eternal bond with someone that you always constantly have to work at. It will not always be pretty but when you have success, its the best feeling in the world.

shite, I'll be the first one to tell somebody I am not the perfect boyfriend. Luckily, I've met someone that allows me to figure shite out as I go. People like that don't exist in large quantities anymore.

The top 3 are:

1) Bond
2) $$$ Security
3) Kids

There are many days that my husband and I annoy the shite out of one another. Days we don’t even necessarily like each other.

But I wouldn’t want to be annoyed by anyone else but him.
