At age 27 when my cousin, who was in the Marines, died saving everyone else on the helicopter that crashed during maneuvers. Then four years later when my dad died of a massive heart attack. You need to appreciate everyone in your life that you love every day because you never know when the day comes that they aren't there anymore.

At 25, when my first son was born. I had been working and married for a few years but knew at that moment it was as real as can be. Total life changer.

21, realized I'm not a kid anymore. Had to start studying for Lsat and became worried about future, family, and my health.

56. Wife got the big C but seems to be defeating it. Life gets very real when you or a loved one's doom is impending.
Good to hear she is ahead of it...best of luck to you my fellow Rads fan

Just turned 28 and life "got real" in several different stages.
Financially at 14 when I got my first job working in tobacco
At 16 when I nearly died from an infection after surgery.
At 18 when I dicked off in college and lost scholarships.
23 and my grandmother blew her own brains out.
24 with my first career job
Now at 28, life is being enjoyed with nothing taken for granted. Seems cheesy but I do live, laugh, love. Just do what makes ya happy and don't look back too much.

1992 at 38 when Dad developed renal carcinoma & passed in 16 weeks
1996 when I was 41 had a light heart attack
Woke my overweight, smoking, non exercising fat arse up.
Realized stress & chasing the corporate tit wasn't the way to go. Decide then to drop that & expand on my career in outdoor radio/media & haven't ever looked back. I'm probably not going to make a high six figure income......don't have to to enjoy the things I like to do.

How old are you?
Life "got real" when I had a child. Also, when I turned 30, I was taking a shower and looked at my hands after applying the shampoo. Noticed about 8 hairs on my palms and fingers. My hairline is slowly but surely thinning and receding.

So by switching careers, you no longer have time to do the things you want to do? Or did you mean to say, "Didn't have time to enjoy the things I like do" meaning you gave up the money but are now doing the things you love to do?
Also, "high" six figure income? Like, $900k? Or $199k?

21 when I had a little soiree at alcohol treatment center. I grew up like a motherfricker during that experience.
Also 26, the first night we brought our daughter home from the hospital. shite was real and there was no running from it.

LOL guess it sounded better in my head than I typed it......Yes now I do the things I love to do & am way more healthy & less stressed too.
High probably wasn't the most appropriate terminology.......Income varies with the economy & the amount of "leisure" dollars being spent with our sponsors.....Unless we go nationwide or get on satellite 199K would be realistic at that point possibly. Bottom line is I'm healthy, happy & having fun
