I used to think it was being old and single that made people weird. Having met more and more weird married people now I think becoming eccentric is mostly a function of growing older and not enough peer correction for strange behaviors.

When searching for a potential partner at 40, it’s better to have been in multiple failed marriages than never to have been in one at all.

Heard this from a friend.

Your friend sounds ugly and poor.

If he dates his age, you think a 40 year old divorced lady is gonna be that picky if a guy chooses her over a 20 something?

And you think a 20 something cares if he’s been married or not?

Both scenarios assuming he’s attractive and has money.

Don’t necessarily agree with their sentiment, but 37, no kids (known, and hope i never hit the lotto so my doorbell starts ringing with past due child support payments), socially normal with plenty of married/divorced/single friends. College educated, normal family, full time job since 20. Now in a fairly long term relationship but have been known to have my share of fun. Ask my buddies who’ve lived vicariously through me for a few years.

I'm waiting to scoop up a hot divorcee that has taken her ex to cleaners with the divorce settlement.

Baw. You have low self esteem. Get control of your life. You are better than this! You can get your weight in order. Put down your barometer, junk food, and hit the gym. You can score a hot news broad. Live life like Jim Cantore

Let's be real - this is ehat everyone says to rationalize their situation. Whether it's true or not is a different story.

I cannot think of anyone I know who is 35+, socially normal, and never married.

I get the mentality, but I've got no anecdotal evidence of it happening.

My wife says age doesn’t matter. She said don’t let age limit your love. She is a school teacher so she knows what is up.

I'll say this, in the professional world (in the south) there is a bit of an unspoken stigma of the adult single male. Much of the time the guy is strange, likely a loser. I'm sure there are exceptions but if you're mid 30s+ and single, something is likely up.

I know some friends who have worked at the Weather Channel. Women there line up to get tabs with Cantore.
