A lot of women would be broke arse bitches if the law wasn't involved.

That's why I don't see the reason to bring the law into it

Interesting reading all of this. I'm 46 and I've been married for over 17 years (to the same lady). She and I were talking about this the other day and the way we were both reared was we saw our parents making sacrifices to give us the best chance to succeed and we just absorbed that as what we would do (and have done).

I realize how "old fashioned" this is and frankly wonder how I'll advise my sons as they age. It it estimated that by 2026 for every 100 males in college there will be 150 females ; with odds like that and how easy sex is now (and how effective contraception is if you want it to be) why should they marry, unless it's to carry on an old-fashioned way of life? If they are in it totally for themselves I can't see why they would.

A male with a college degree, a good job and normal social skills is going to be a damned unicorn!

Uh never.

Why is it anyone's concern?

This is so obviously the correct answer. How the hell did this thread make 9 pages?

I didn't get married until my mid thirties. I never felt creepy.

I am in my mid 40's, never married, and don't feel creepy. In fact, I point and laugh at the guys my age who have been divorced, have overbearing wives, have kids that occupy all of their free time, have no time to do anything for themselves, have no money to use on anything for themselves, can't sleep in on the weekends, have to account for their whereabouts every second of the day......I could go on, but I think you get the idea.

I've had an interesting talk with my youngest daughter about this...she's mid 20's with a BSN, she got rid of the last two boyfriends because they were pushing to get married fairly quickly...

I am never one to do this....I usually leave it to the other weirdos on here, but...

PICS???
