And people are having kids later in life now which compresses the window for many.
My mom had 3 kids by 23 which is certainly not the norm anymore outside of people on government assistance. Kids are expensive for the middle class especially when you are young and not making much money yet.

The Wall generally is reckoned to be around 30 or so. Whether or not they hit it that soon, most can surely see it coming by that age, so that's when a lot of gals, after a decade of debauchery in college and in the cities with their girlfriends, suddenly have a change of priorities. This is often when a lot of them return to the church of their youth to "get right", and start hunting for a husband that hopefully won't ask too many questions.

A lot of “youthful indiscretion” can be overlooked as long as there is no permanent damage and someone hasn’t been overtly whorish in public.

Yeah. But at 30. They begin the transformation of turning into their mothers. Thats when their genetics hit and they start slowly...putting on the weight.
I avoid that with a 5ft radius. Women who havent had kids weighing a ton already. Avoid that like the plague.
Then there are the tictok videos of these women transformations, upset that their husband didnt want to touch them after they put on 125 pounds. They swear they will never let him touch them again.
People are nuts.

I was widowed in my late 30s with no kids. I never got desperate. By the time I was ready to consider a new relationship any man I would have considered was already married and I didn't want to deal with the baggage that accompanies a guy who has been divorced.

Surely people were still getting pregnant at 40 before then
While it may not be ideal to have a baby at 40 a woman’s body at some point naturally says “okay that’s it” and theoretically is still capable of handling it until that point

it would be nice if you could get married at 22, bang monkey sex till 30 and then have kids but it never works out.
