At what age did you stop getting excited about your birthday?

Today is my birthday and for the first time in my life I was not excited about it.

When you’re young, birthdays are gift showers. When you’re in your late teens to early 20’s, they’re reasons to party.

Now that I’m turning 27, it just seems like a reminder that I’m getting older, that my hair is getting thinner, that my prime is nearing its end, and that I’m another year closer to marriage and kids.

Do any of you baws feel the same way?

Just imagine how unexcited we are about your birthday....ever since we’ve known you.

Today is my birthday also, turning 39. It’s just another work day. Kids will probably sing me happy birthday tonight after dinner, which is all I really want to be honest.

ETA: I told my wife this morning that next year at 40, I expect marching bands and fireworks.

I turn 39 this year and I’m stoked. Always a fun time to get together with friends and have a few free drinks

As far as big ordeals go 22.

Birthday 19-22 I was in undergrad so got hammered with friends.

23-26 has just been meh. But still like going eat out.

The difference between turning 21 and 22 was remarkable.

22 is when it stops being fun. My birthday is just another day in the scheme of things now.

30 was fun but 31 was just meh. After 30 though I started to get a new pain or joint popping every year.
