13. It was all downhill after that. But seriously that was the last time I had a party/celebration. My immediate family didn't really do birthdays. It just seemed like something for little kids. Not that I look down on people who like to make a thing out of it. Frankly the attention makes me uncomfortable.

Today is my birthday motha fricker....meet me at Sonic, this is my day.

To answer your question though, I stopped getting excited around 8 to 10. I only ever want my bday to be the most normal uneventful day as possible.

Eta...also, I'm 32....I see another poster is 39 today...how many more of you were born today?

What is wrong with you people? I've waited 364 days for this BJ, I'm going to sit back and enjoy it.

I don't remember the exact age, but it was around 27-29. Before that, I would always take the day off and just have the day to myself. I would always go for a steak dinner in the evening, and end up getting hammered. At some point it just stopped and became another day.

It was around 12 y/o. Started working afternoons and weekends with a new country boy neighbor. Cut grass, weeded, painted, anything we could do.
Kids now don’t have that option.

almost 50 and the only thing i get excited about is seeing which kid wishes me happy birthday first. it's become a competition with them. so much so, that i found out they were setting alarms. youngest daughter won this year with a call that came at 4am.

18, which was the legal drinking age back then, was the last birthday that really meant anything to me.

Between 25 and 35 I didn't care much. Every year after 35 I have been excited.

The PT test bar gets lower with age, as do auto insurance rates.

I always get my hopes up for my birthday since it’s on Halloween, which should mean there’s something fun going down, but no one seems to care to celebrate it with me. There’s usually some Halloween parties happening I don’t get invited to, but my friends do, and I won’t hear about it from them till the day of. Happens every year. And then I turn into a big wet sour puss about it. Birthdays suck.
