Exactly. I'm 5'9" 155. Never been fat and played a sport on the college level. I separated my shoulder twice and probably should have had surgery after the second one. Turning 60 in July and it's the only thing that even remotely bothers me. I'm active at work and do a lot of stretching and walking.

Be active and don't eat like a starving wolf.

A sprained ankle in 1992 isn’t the reason your shite hurts in 2025 when you’ve been 60lbs overweight forever

it was 1995.
and I only weigh 160# at 5' 8"

so I am on the higher end (but still in range) of "normal" BMI, but definitely not anywhere close to 60# overweight.

in fact, losing 60# would put me well below anything that would be considered a healthy weight for my height.

so why does that ankle bother me at times, oh wise one?

51-ish. Now 55. Sciatica in lower back and hip is the primary problem.
Everything else seems to recover from hard work after a day or two.
Small doses of indica is helpful. I prefer it to pharma.
Tinnitus is a hateful disease-ridden prostitute.

I had zero problems until I turned 55 and then it went to hell from there. I fixed what I could the rest I just learned to live with.

I lift, stretch a lot, and do quite a bit of cardio as well. Also maintaining a healthy weight alone is key.

I'm 43 and feel youthful since starting daily cardio 5 years ago. Took a few months to get through body tissue rebuild from being a lazy piece of shite for two decades--aches and little injuries that I thought were age that were just stagnation. I built this up mostly with walking and most people can and should do that for themselves.

Run 2-3 days a week, 2-4 miles per run; the days I don't run, I walk 2-6 miles.

Lift weights 2-3/week.

Yoga 3/month maybe, stretching weekly.

Eat food that is food as much as possible, as little from plastic bags/containers as possible.

All that stuff allows me to be as active as my kids want me to be.

Mid 50’s.

Had a meniscus and neck surgery within months of each other. I really need to get in shape. Lost 17 pounds recently so I’m down to 198 but need to lose more.

It really got bad when I turned 50. Old age is not for the faint of heart.

When I reached 80, my neck got so stiff it became painful to turn my head. That made driving risky when I came to an intersection.

I started doing simple exercise, moving my head up and down for about thirty times. Then turning it as far as I could from side to side about thirty times. After about a week of this exercise, I could look in both directions prior to turning onto the highway.

Also recently I have developed pain in my upper arm and shoulders. Very painful when I raise my arms above my shoulders. Exercise has helped but not cured it yet.

I hurt my back while in the Military. I lived with it until I was about forty-five, then had surgery for a ruptured disc. Fortunately it was successful. No problem with my back since surgery.

That’s caused by the discs in your neck degrading.

It puts pressure on the nerve roots coming out of your neck to your arms. The nerves run through your scapula and shoulders into your arms and fingers. You’ll probably start getting tingling and numbness in your hands and fingers.

In three months, I went from a decade of riding scooters in Walmart to walking five pain free miles daily. I had terrible inflammation in both knees and I was 71.

I decided to change my diet. I ditched sugar, alcohol and every food that contains seed oils. The oils like soybean, sunflower and canola were without a doubt the cause of my terrible inflammation.

Today at 76, I'm a strict carnivore who understands the importance of keeping omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids in balance. Ditching the seed oils lowered omega 6 and eating sardines raised omega 3.

My Omegaquant fatty acid profile is shown below.

Man don't give me bad news.

Just joking.
I have had a blessed life. So far no maladies that Drs couldn't fix.
Dr did diagnose the neck problem about twenty years ago. I have always enjoyed fixing breakfast for the Grand Kids when they visit. When my neck was bothering me I couldn't stand the pain when frying bacon. So I quit. After I started the exercise I can tolerate the pain. So far its nothing I can't tolerate

I’m 37 and my body is starting to bitch if I drop a smidge below tip top shape. It started this year. Ive got back and shoulder spasms that come and go. I think this is one advantage for shorter guys. They seem to be more durable as they age.

I still feel pretty good at 47. I definitely don't feel 32 anymore though.

I still workout a few days per week. Working out in the yard all day hurts a little more than it used to, eyesight going to shite etc

fricking 60 like a cheap microwave oven. Going back to the orthopedic surgeon on Thursday. My right shoulder is fricking up and that’s my strength on offshore fishing tournaments… prolly will have to retire and that’s a piss off.

I'm in my 50s and jacked the frick out on TRT. Sleep better, feel better, added some weight to my reps and a couple more sets to my workouts.
