Lewis Neal offered me a deal for $3500 to mine bitcoin about 3 years ago when it was around $500-$1000 per, I didn’t fricking do it

Everyone has a story....here's mine

Bought a few at $400 just to frick around as I didn't know much about it nor did I care to. Got rid of em shortly after, hardly made anything.

Oops?

Your skepticism is well placed and you have no reason to believe me. Maybe I just want cool internet points.

And own a yeti that they didn’t pay for.

The bitcoin thing fascinated me. I don’t bother kicking myself over it becuase i know I wouldn’t have stayed in it nearly long enough to make much. $1000 is a big deal to me and I’d have bailed as soon as I? had a few hunned return on my $50 investment.

I also don’t understand how somebody could be holding say $300k in bitcoins, and trade them in for a valid check. Who buys them?

Investors or people who want to buy drugs from the deep web.

Greater than three digits but fewer than four.

1. So somewhere between $960k and $9.6mil.

2. What would be the harm in saying the actual number?

i view them as shares of a stock in a way

the market works almost the same way

there are people constantly offering to buy and people constantly offering to sell...when those numbers converge, a sale is made, just like the market

obviously you can't sell without a buyer willing to pay what you want

Excuse the skepticism but I love folks on here claiming they invested in bitcoin during the hey days which should yield a multimillion dollar valuation but they say iM nOt CaShInG oUt as if yielding multimillion dollar returns from even the riskiest of investments within a few years is normal.

Eh, it looks like it could easily get to $25k/bitcoin.

If I had, say, 500 of em for $4.8mil. I would 100% cash some out, maybe half. But I'd keep that other half in there as I think the odds of it getting to $25k or better than it tanking.

Bitcoin doesn't have any, or extremely minimal, intrinsic value, people only buy it as an investment to make money which has strong signs of a bubble. Just my take.

Because I don't want anyone to know. I'm not telling you how much I have in any of my other financial accounts, either.

It's certainly your prerogative, obviously, no biggie.

I'd just say it's a bit odd IMO that you don't mind giving a ton of info on your history as you have but not the total amount.

Either way, not a big deal.

Agreed. It of course has it's inherent value as a cryptocurrency, but what I'm looking forward to is all the other uses for the blockchain. I think ETH will be the better long-term investment for that reason.

I have most of my money in ETH and a bit in Litecoin.

Closer to the former than the latter. It's a prime number, at least.

BTC threads never fail: “Valuation is now $xxxx”

random posters: “glad I got in when I did, the future is bright”. “

Skeptical poster: “When did you get in, how much?”

Random poster: “uuuhhhh muh finances”

Sure but if you think this 1 poster is lying, why does him not revealing the amount of coins he has prove it? If he was lying, wouldn't it make it even easier for him to just make a random number and post it?

I don't think he said that?

He said he has in the 3 digits of total bitcoin, so between 100 and 999. Then he said he's not a multi milionaire, which I'd set at $2mil, right?

So the number would be between 100 and 210 ish bitcoin which would be between $960k and just under $2mil.

Well when BTC does hit six figures, make sure you keep me in mind when you use your massive fortune to create Galt's Gulch
