The relentless manipulations of the press have grown tiresome.

Some proponents believe that keeping white lowercase is actually anti-Black, saying it perpetuates the idea that whites are the default race.

No matter what, it’s racists

EXACTLY. Which is why one segment of society has to constantly create "problems" to "solve" or just bitch about. That's why were are in the midst of a "cataclysmic pandemic." There were no REAL problems (relatively speaking) to worry about. It's also why would see an absurd amount of fake "hate crimes". Actual racism in 2020 is high in demand and short in supply. Otherwise, it would be unnecessary to fabricate all these "incidents".
But when you are a leftist/progressive you ALWAYS need a villain to fight. Problem to solve. Your self identity is wrapped up in that. So when you don't have one organically, you have to create one.

No matter how ridiculous the premise, there’s always a university sociologist available to lend credence

This is separate but unequal.
Proof positive what I've been saying: the "marginalized" groups today don't actually want equality, they want their turn on top and special treatment.
See: BLM and LGBTQNSH-#P/* (Gay Gestapo).

The AP said white people in general have much less shared history and culture

This made sense back when we called them “African-Americans”
Because culturally it’s not like a lot of them know their old tribal practices. Their culture is that of an African in the Americas.
Just like in the 40s the culture of an Irish American and an Italian American wasn’t the same.
But once you’re a generation or two removed from immigration, you’re usually just an American. And white Americans tend to share a lot of culture at least regionally.
