Do you have a 6 month review? If so bring it up then, if not give it a week or so and ask if you can have a minute.
ETA: Don't ask unless you have earned it BTW

He's probably trolling you into making the first move to see if you're a puss

When I was having anxiety about sticking with my current job at the time or leaving someone gave me some advice when it came to money...
Better to be paid today than keep a promise to be paid in the future.

Today was my 6 month mark and no I'm not panicking already. Just wondering the protocol if a few weeks or month goes by without any movement.
You can never rely on someone else. Tell your boss you want permission to share your calendars in outlook, if he asks why, then say " I want to schedule my 6 month evaluation and wanted to make sure when you are free"
what ever he says.....make sure you set a date and DO NOT BLINK(straight face, no smile, serious)
This is not the time to play nice....nice gets you shite.
If you infer a "I need to know by" date, then he may think you have another offer.
PS: If you need courage...follow him ...like Dexter..learn who he is and how easy it would be to take him out without anyone knowing. Weird but it gives you a subconscious leverage. Makes him more herbivorous.

This is the correct answer.
In my case, it was followed shortly by me updating my resume, but it was better to find out that my boss was a lying sack of shite right away instead of in a nuisanced series of bullshite conversations over several months.

Just ask
'part of the original plan was for a 6 mknth evaluation period and then a promotion. The evaluation period is over, what's the status of the promotion?'

Kujo, if you want come on here and try and act intelligent and do your troll thing, it will go over a bit better if you use correct words.
A writer or speaker, implies.
A reader or listener, infers.

A few words that I learned years ago to preface anything that you want to bring up to employees, bosses or employers...
"I know you're really busy, but..."
That way, you've acknowledged why they haven't done/thought about the situation, and you've also implied that you now don't care that they're busy, this is important to you.
Good luck. Go do it.

Just walk into her office tomorrow and say "Do you know what time it is? I do! It's the time that 6 month promotion guy gets paid!"
After that, just nervously laugh and say "just messing with you. But really though, did you already forget about my promotion?"
This will disarm her in a casual but funny way while letting her know you mean business.

Why don't you just go explain to your boss the animosity you're explaining here.
Just catch her for a one on one and say exactly this:
"Excuse me /insert bosslady name with nice rack that I want to motorboat/. Look I'm trying to do some planning concerning my wife's maternity leave. Remember we discussed a 6 month raise and I was hoping to get information on that to know if I can count it in to my plans? I love you, thanks."
I've had employees do exactly this to me minus the OTisms and I appreciate that they bring it to my attention. The etiquette is be polite and show the reason for your concern in a team sort of way.
Good luck baw.
