It's not even human. A Human wouldn't do that. Put it down.

Of course.

And why is it these stories are almost always in New York?

In recent months there have been several instances of people being stabbed, assaulted or shoved onto the tracks at stations in the Bronx, Brooklyn and at Times Square.

Can they not do something about this?

I heard on radio yesterday that they want to release 2000 inmates from Rikers island.

WMATA has talked about doing this for Metro in DC and the cost is astronomical. Given how much graft and waste there is in any Metro construction project, it's never going to happen.
ok, then trains need to slow way down before approaching a platform.

Kinda bullshite there aren't better safety precautions.

anyone remember when Biden tasked his DOJ with looking into who was the greatest terroristic thread to the United States? Pretty sure it was one of his Day 1 EO’s

Of course they came back with the answer of: domestic White Supremacists.

We learned this week that the DOJ even setup having the Teacher’s Union formally request they (the DOJ) investigate parents for protesting at school board meetings…

Hell, the DOJ started a new task force this week to ‘combat domestic terrorism as national security officials warn of a "persistent and evolving" threat of violent extremism within the U.S’

and of course the media carries that torch despite stories like this popping up every day in cities all over the country. One specific demographic causing the vast majority of violent crime and it’s not even remotely close. so, i ask…

how many hate crimes by white supremacists have ended in a death in 2021? Now compare that the other demographic? Or demographic : demographic violent crime in major American cities.

would the average American feel safer moving into a neighborhood that votes 90% Republican. Or 90% Democrat?

I didn’t feel unsafe however I would stand away from the platform for that very reason.

I always stand back from the edge of an open metro track, especially in NYC, to avoid being pushed or bumped into an oncoming train. Some cities around the world have barriers to prevent this sort of thing.

Seems like places like Denver aiport and DFW airport have trains that line up perfectly with the doors everytime. I imagine it could theoretically be done on a larger scale.

Full automation of something like the NYC subway system is certainly possible, but I think you are vastly underestimating the complexity. The two systems you referenced are a line and a loop, respectively. If you look at the NYC subway map, you’ll see why automation would be several orders of magnitude more difficult and staggeringly more expensive.

With that said, I think this is also a bit of a sensationalized problem. I mean, I get it, the prospect is terrifying, but if someone were standing next to a busy street and someone pushed them into traffic, I doubt anyone would be calling for hand rails lining our roads. Don’t stand right on the edge of a busy road. Don’t stand right on the edge of a train platform, underground or above ground. The world is full of risks and danger; people should behave accordingly.

The same people who complained 5-10 years ago whenever race was unnecessarily mentioned, are now the same people who look for times to unnecessarily bring up race.

They need to kick the homeless out of the stations.

Agreed. Used to go there regularly for business purposes. The homeless were taking baths in the toilets inside the train station as well. The entire place smelled of terrible body odor. You couldn’t even take a leak before getting on the train without basically throwing up. I saw several crazy fights with homeless people where cops were 20 feet away and did nothing. They must be used to it happening regularly.

Because people like you wait 5-10 years to acknowledge you previously lied to perpetuate racial strife.

You just don't like it when others do what you have done. You know this entire "White supremacy" conspiracy you have pushed and supported.
