Can anyone raising kids today answer these questions?
- At what age do you expect your kids to get a job?
- How much do you think technology/social media has influenced how you parent?
- Is it just me or does society not allow boys to be boys and girls to be girls? When I was growing up, it seemed like it was normal for boys to fight each other. At recess when the boys were playing football and two kids got in a fight, they would get sent to the principal office, they would be told "next time I am going to call your parents" and then send them back to class. Rough housing was sort of normal.
It seems like around. I don't know, 5th.. 6th grade.. people start having "crushes" on someone from the opposite sex. I remember.. this might have been 5th or 6th grade. One of my friends had a girl friend and on valentines be brought her a small box of candy. He gave it to her and then at recess she had her friend bring it to him, with one piece of candy left and the girl told him that she (his girlfriend) is breaking up with him.. And then we all laughed at him. Is that some shite that would go on today?

I’m 50 and I’m becoming intentionally more corporal with my heathen sons (5 and 6). They can be sociopathic, conniving, scheming, violent little animals. No training in those qualities required.

i'm 42 YO Xennial (whatever) and I spanked both boys and slap both of them upside the head at 16 and 18 and they both take it like men because they know they F'd up when it happens.
i also was a football coach and slapped my players in the back of the head. my wife lost her mind when she heard that and I asked my son and two of his teammates if it bothered them. they said "no, it meant we needed to quit jacking around and listen."

I’ve been trying to teach my 4 year old girl to dick punch older boys at the trampoline park and yell “manifest destiny”

You have way more to apologize for than just raising shitty kids.

born in 80, son born in 08. All I had to do was make sure they didn't act up if we went to eat, and went to his school to demand discipline when he screwed up.
