Hard to believe how much NWA has grown in my lifetime.
There are pros and cons to the growth, but overall I find myself bitching about the traffic more than anything.
Also the infrastructure in the cities is WAY behind. Interstate system is finally catching up, but the rate we are growing it wont be caught up for long.

But I get what your saying. Arkansas is low key great for outdoor activities. Arkansans like that it’s low key.

Be careful, you could be overrun with transplants from the northeast and Cali before long just like CO was

I've spent many weeks in and around Eureka Springs for motorcycle rallies over the years and I love that area of the state. Great riding if you like switchbacks and tight mountain roads.
If I decide to leave La. after the wife retires I'm thinking N. Carolina may be a place I'd like to settle down in.
I love riding my motorcycle in the mountains and the idea of having 4 seasons a year instead of miserably hot and cool to fairly cold fall/winters of S.E. La. appeals to me.

Find the highest place in ark and stay there for a week in the summer Camping ... hot fleas and ticks
Do the same in summit county in Colorado.
Mountains were created by erosion in ark put tectonics in Colorado...
Both have some very good qualities ...ark has some very nice lakes!!!

Kansas is basically what separates between Arkansas and Colorado. 11 hour drive or 2 hour flight. I'm not an avid skier so yeah, if you're trying to ski 50 times in a season, go live in Colorado. For me, I have buddies in Denver and flying once a month to CO and snowboard is fine for me.

There's really no comparison between Colorado and Arkansas. Sure, Arkansas has some nice scenery, especially compared to the flat Southern areas that most of us live in, but its more like an Appalachia-lite.
In short, people from Arkansas are still gob-struck when they visit Colorado but not really the other way around.

I've been up in the Rockies 4 times now on my motorcycle and absolutely love riding through them.
It is so different than riding the Ozarks or Smokies. With the Rockies, you have these wide sweeping curves cutting through most of the mountains and you can make decent time with a more relaxing ride navigating the roads.
In the Ozarks and Smokies, the roads are much tighter with tons of switchbacks that really kind of force you to pay a lot more attention to the road and the conditions. Both are fun to ride in, but for different reasons.

Is the eastern half of Colorado that is basically "West Kansas" the most overlooked area in the country?
I still love Arkansas but it isn't Colorado.

I can attest to the fly situation I've encountered in Eureka Springs when attending motorcycle rallies held in September.
Until I went there the first time for a rally, I had never encountered flies like that. Order food at a café and head out to eat it and as soon as you were out the door the flies started stealing the food off the plate.
