First, I see no evidence of the guy being detained and if he was was it on suspicion that he committed a crime? As far as I can see he didn't do anything wrong and the cop approached him.
Second he was obviously on private property so did the cop have a warrant?

Third, the girl was there supposedly to get her stuff. He's under no obligation to allow any of them in his house.

Cop was full of shite

If the guy has her things and won't let her get her stuff he's stealing her things. Second the cop was called to the location and was let onto the property by the girl. It's not like the cop is pulling into the location randomly. Third he might not be under any obligation to let them into his house, but he can't hold onto her clothes. He also told the guy if he didn't give his name he'd be arrested for obstruction. Right or wrong that would be settled in court.

She didn't live there, she can't give permission.

It looks like a apartment complex or a hotel or something. Either way, she wasn't on the paperwork/lease to authorize the police to be there.

That's exactly what's happening right now. And the department is in a world of hurt by this cowboy's wild west actions.

No he's not. If she left them there she can't pick and choose when she gets them. It's really a civil matter.

Not only that, you can bet the girl had already given the cops his name so they already knew it. Again cop was full of shite.

I don't think he should have tazed him at that point.

Yes, the guy should have given his name, but he was upset. I think he could have given him a warning about the tazer. I know he said to give him the name or he will be arrested for obstruction.. but dang.. that cop doesn't play around.

I don't know why but I believe the guy was just being defiant to the girl calling the police.. and he was actually at that point going to let her in.

I also like how the cop referred to him as "dawg" at one point. Oh well.. It sucks, but at least he didn't get shot.

What sucks is that this is where we are in this country. Just glad that he didn't get shot.

No what sucks is we have a large portion of our society that aren't worth a shite. Why not just tell him your name, especially after he explained why he was asking

So, let me get this straight, you're going to be courteous and respectful, yet refuse to give your name and identification.

Please tell me how you're going to do this, gramps.

Should the cop have tazed the guy that quick? probably not. But it all goes back to one thing.

If you argue, fight, or run from the police, you're either going to get your arse kicked, tazed, or shot. Its not rocket science. If you want to "remain silent" like jackass on page 2 and 3 is talking about, thats fine. Enjoy your visit to jail. Why be a pain in the arse? Just let the guy do his job. I've had multiple runs in with the police, and even went to jail once. Not one time did I get my arse kicked, tazed, or shot. Wanna know the secret? I just complied.

Argue your point later, in front of a jury.

Exactly, this entire "frick the police" mentality has become a self fulfilling prophecy

Being a cop in Blytheville is tougher than most can imagine. I know this policeman and am certain he did what he thought was correct and tried not to use force. I also know the tasee and he is a POS fully capable of escalating that situation.

Sure as hell doesn't look like that from the video.

He tazed an unarmed person posing no threat that wasn't under arrest or detention. If that's his judgement, he may want to consider a different career. He has already killed someone in the line of duty.

Good job by Blue! Man wasn't listening and could have handled himself much differently to avoid the taser. I enjoy taser vids so much!

He was being detained and was obstructing. I am sure you will disagree with that, so conduct yourself in the same manner when and if you are dealing with LE and report back how it went for you.

You are the same a-hole that gives the 70 year old wal-mart receipt checker a hard time aren't you?

Because of my rights and stuff man.

When you are an a-hole for no other reason than you feel that you can be --- karma will get you.

Trying to get brutalized so you can sue.... you really seem like you have it all planned out.

Probably not retirement though.

Oh the irony as you become the 70 year old receipt checker you used to bully.....

What crime was he suspected of committing? You can't just detain someone without reasonable suspicion/probable cause.

my one experience in blytheville - this was either late 90's or early 2000's. long story short but we were on a road trip that stopped off in memphis and then we were heading on to st louis. we stopped at a grocery store there for something and people were walking around the store smoking, it was like i flashed back to the 70's.
