Why do you hate the US Constitution and Bill of Rights?
Don't hate anything but pathetic losers and non-productive leeches.
If you've nothing to hide, why not just identify yourself and let everyone go about their day safely?
Why is it so hard to just be a normal productive citizen and enjoy everything this great country has to offer instead of push the envelope and frick things up?

OK, I'll play along: I identify myself as an American Citizen with the right to remain silent
I'll play along too: In the state of Louisiana if you refuse to identify yourself you can be arrested. At that point if you just try to walk away you'll probably get tased or tackled.

Ahh, the attacks come out when substance lacks.

Because under the United States Law I am innocent until proven guilty, I do not have to provide for my innocence. If I am being stopped, detained, or questioned the authorities already have suspicion in mind and anything I say WILL be used against me to back those suspicions. They admit that when they read the Miranda Warning upon arrest.

You mean like my Constitutional Rights? The right to remain silent, the right to be free from unwarranted search and seizure, the right to be free?
This nation was founded on pushing the envelope. If no one ever pushed there would be no America. Blacks, Asians, women, and Hispanics would have fewer rights.

I do believe that "Anything I say can and will be used against me", this includes stating any identifying information. So I may be enjoying my tazing as I think of the big settlement check that will be offered on your tax burden
If you refuse to identify to the detaining officer you probably won't get tased... but they'll probably bring you to the station to identify you through other means. Feel free to waste hours of your life instead of just telling them your name though.
If you refuse to identify and are being detained then at that point you're resisting and officer and you'll get arrested. If you turn and walk away you'll probably be apprehended... possibly by the use of a taser.

Not only that, but I don't see a snowballs chance in hell of you wasting the officers time bringing you in for identification and them not finding something to give you a citation for.

What are they going to use AGAINST him, his name? ID yourself and say nothing else...what a badass constitutional REBEL!!!

Well at the very least you'll probably get charged with:
quote:
§108. Resisting an officer
A. Resisting an officer is the intentional interference with, opposition or resistance to, or obstruction of an individual acting in his official capacity and authorized by law to make a lawful arrest, lawful detention, or seizure of property or to serve any lawful process or court order when the offender knows or has reason to know that the person arresting, detaining, seizing property, or serving process is acting in his official capacity.
B.(1) The phrase "obstruction of" as used herein shall, in addition to its common meaning, signification, and connotation mean the following:
(a) Flight by one sought to be arrested before the arresting officer can restrain him and after notice is given that he is under arrest.
(b) Any violence toward or any resistance or opposition to the arresting officer after the arrested party is actually placed under arrest and before he is incarcerated in jail.
(c) Refusal by the arrested or detained party to give his name and make his identity known to the arresting or detaining officer or providing false information regarding the identity of such party to the officer.
(d) Congregation with others on a public street and refusal to move on when ordered by the officer.
(2) The word "officer" as used herein means any peace officer, as defined in R.S. 40:2402, and includes deputy sheriffs, municipal police officers, probation and parole officers, city marshals and deputies, and wildlife enforcement agents.
C. Whoever commits the crime of resisting an officer shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars or be imprisoned for not more than six months, or both.

You think you're sticking it to the man... in reality you're fricking yourself over because you'll end up spending a few hours at the station while they identify you when you could have just told them your name and went about your business.
Nope, it's not about sticking it to anybody. And since I am retired I have the time to go sit while the authorities go through the appropriate process.
We each have our place and our abilities. If the authorities really think I have committed some crime/participated in criminal activities they can conduct their investigation, I'm not gonna interfere. Of course I am not gonna do their job for them nor make it easy on them to confirm their suspicions.
There are laws to limit the activities of both citizens and enforcement authorities. We all should follow all these laws not just some of them due being convenient or not.

You realize that failure to identify yourself to an officer while being arrested or detained is a crime? You might end up sitting a while longer than you expected.

Like the Louisiana law that says you must make your identity known?
And so in La. I would state my name, other states, maybe not, depends on their law.
ETA: Yes, I would give my real name too, falsely ID'ing is a crime all over.

Do you really expect us to believe that if you get stopped for speeding, you are not even going to give the officer your driver's license?
You're a fool.
And you are correct, this country was founded by people pushing the envelope. So tell us, what envelope are you pushing by acting like a tough guy to the cops?

Whatever floats your boat man. I personally don't think giving a cop my name is an "unreasonable search" and it doesn't result in me feeling like my rights have been trampled. To each his own I guess.

So far you are the only one acting like a tough guy and a fool. Not one other person in this thread has been insulting nor disrespectful.
No matter what else is going on, as evidenced by numerous videos and anecdotes through the years, be respectful and courteous to authorities, especially since they are normally just going about their jobs. But one can stand for their rights while being courteous.

So you're giving your actual name or identifying as an American citizen?
You previously stated that you wouldn't adhere to laws for identifying yourself, so why wouldn't you give a false name?

Blytheville, AR
The biggest craphole in Arkansas and most dangerous city in the state. The whole town is like the worst part of Memphis.
