They do that to scare people to take the plea deal. DA doesn't take the chance of losing a case that way

If he pleads, he’ll probably get manslaughter. If he goes to trial, murder 2 is very much in the table.

Meh - I wouldn't take that chance. His lawyer knows the most they'll get with a jury is manslaughter and you have a chance at nullification.
The plea deal would be in the key of assault/battery, but with a decent bit of jail time, depending on the guy's past record.

Tbh, I would've beat him to death in the store. At least he gave the security guard a chance to do something. Sounds like the gas station didn't do anything, and just let the guy walk. Didn't even call the cops.

i think security cam footage in the store could be very telling.
if the video shows the guy following the girl into the bathroom, thus he knew damn well who was in the stall, that helps this fathers case alot.
if video shows that this was just some strung out dude potentially rushing to take a dump, without being aware whom specifically was in the stall, shines a different light on the story.

I appreciate that some people actually read the story. I saw this on Twitter first and found it odd, but in reading it further the headline is extremely misleading.

Headline is misleading as frick. Semi-related, my dad kicked the shite out of some dude trying to peep on me in the bathroom at PanAm stadium when I was around 8. I had no idea what was going on then obviously, but looking back I'm sure glad he was paying attention that day.

I dont want some sick bastard dressed as a woman in the same bathroom as my little girl.
