Can someone please confirm that, if you get tested AND test positive, there's NO advantage to finding out that you discovered you had it early? i mean.......it's not like cancer, right?

i'm having an argument over testing and my point is that it doesn't fricking matter when you find out. early or late.....the virus will do it's thing.

I mean the sooner you find out the sooner you can quarantine abs hopefully get back to work. I tested the next day my symptoms started.

I had the COVID around the beginning of the year. Very mild and I self quarantined at my house until I recovered. A bunch of other people I know flipped out that I didn’t get tested. Why? What does it matter?

Well it’s important that you know so you won’t pass it to anyone else... seems like common sense

The main advantage is that you can avoid spreading it further and take proper care of yourself.

There are prescription and vitamin regimens you can start taking when you test positive, and the earlier you start those, the better chances you don't develop severe symptoms.

So no, the earlier you catch it the better. Just like any virus.

I would want to know for certain that I had it and recovered. I’d go about life a little differently if I knew I was immune.

You can always go give blood and see if you have antibodies. If you do they will want more of your blood

I guess the only advantage of knowing you had it early is pin pointing when you can try for a negative test.

Now Biden is in office now, you are correct, there's no reason to be tested just to find out.

People who either ignore symptoms or think it’s something else can get in trouble by not taking care of themselves. An early test can put you on notice to be vigilant for certain bad signs. I know a few people who thought it was a cold for a week and were in a bad spot when they finally went to the hospital.
