It'd be good to start with a list of priorities and work from there (Proximity to lake, Trace, etc...). You'll probably want quick access to the Causeway if you're hiking across the lake. There are a few apartment complexes in Old Mandeville but I don't know anything about those.

Get a nice apartment in N.O. or Maybe a nice part of Metairie/Kenner.

i'm 30. i've lived in metairie, new orleans, mandeville, and kenner since college. You always end up going back downtown for some reason or another. definitely don't live on the northshore until you are older.

Algiers Point is nice, even though the area is small, Old Gretna around St Joseph's Church is nice and there are some good restaurants

you're way too young to live in Belle Chasse...unless you live to hunt and fish, easy access to Lake Hermitage, Empire, Buras, Venice, et.al.
