Are you surprised that Harrah's hasn't sued the City of New Orleans yet?

The largest casino in the state, the "only land-based casino" (lol) for many years...and the only one in the state not allowed to open, because Latoya has deemed it so.
shite the Governor even amended phase 1 to allow 50% occupancy at Casinos.
Honestly, I am really shocked they haven't filed something.

How much action does Harrah's get from locals?

The way they got there permit to operate was an under the table type of deal. I don't think they want to push the destroya to hard.

Not a good idea to sue the same people you have to pay off

Because the city is run by a bunch of thugs that will punish Harrahs if they resist.

The queen will not be bullied by lawyers and corporations

Why? It'd just be another way to take money out of your pocket and into their pockets.

Lol. I bet if they wanted to they could destroy Destroya.

For sure. I never thought about the breakdown between visitors and locals. Was thinking maybe they weren't pushing because they weren't missing out on much. But if a lot of locals go there, it is weird that they're not trying to force their way open.

Really?
You don't think the city would try and recoup those funds later on through fines, etc?

Might be the cost to open that beast of a building would run negative at 25%

Let's say they sue and win, open the doors, then a COVID outbreak is tracked to them.
Now they are getting the shite sued out of them for ignoring the City's recommendation/rules.

Except that the State is allowing 50% occupancy at casinos.

and given the fact that "them locals" have been sitting at home on stimulus and unemployment checks rolling in.....that money is burning a hole in their pockets.

That's not true. The change allows casinos to open 50% of their games. The 25% capacity rule remains in place.

Fair enough. What a weird rule.
