I’m level Five yet love to make enough money each year to donate a sizeable amount of it to a non-profit that I run and take no salary or income from it so I can help those who are in situations outside of their control or to help some people ultimately achieve their life long dreams who wouldn’t otherwise.

My kids and wife are set however we remember are all just one disease or injury from losing it all even with insurance these days.

My dad, who worked at Dow for 30 years, once texted me his SS Statement.

We moved out of BTR when I was 16, from the ghetto, and went to Watson. New neighborhood, in 1997. I'm guessing mid-100's for the home,

My father, no degree, who graduated HS in 1976, never got over $70K. But, managed to give us what I would consider a pretty cush lifestyle. And I am grateful to him, everyday.

Yes but I am storing up treasure in heaven rather than on earth.

No

What does “rich” mean to you?

Having enough money that I no longer worry about my future.

Having peace of mind in my relationships with my friends and family.

Being 100% comfortable in placing all my trust in God with every aspect of my life.

Yes

Having peace of mind in my relationships with my friends and family.
Mostly. I still worry about my adult children, probably unnecessarily.

Being 100% comfortable in placing all my trust in God with every aspect of my life.
This one still eludes me for the most part. I trust in Gods plan for my life but I haven't learned how to pray about a decisions then make it and not worry some how I've missed what God meant for me in the situation.

If not, when will you get there?

Hopefully sooner rather than later.

I invested diligently in my 20's. Lived within my means. Also did 24 years in the Army - one of the last places you can retire and get a pension.

If I made what I make now, in 1950, then yes, I am rich.

Hell, if I made what I make now in 2018, yes. Thanks to 4 years of printing money for other countries wars and I'm barely middle class.

My nephew is doing this in the Air Force. He's my prodigy. He started investing with my help when he was in his teens. Went to 1st year of college and didn't really know what he wanted to do and since I was the one funding it (and not his mom, dad, or 4 step dads) he asked me what I thought and we settled on the Air Force. He's in intel and has been working various tech related jobs. Working in acquisitions/logistics now. Got ten years in now. Married a girl he worked with at NSA in Oahu. She got out and it making bank as a contractor in cybersecurity and is good with him staying in for the benefits and she enjoys the lifestyle.

He made bank in Oahu delivering pizzas in his free time. I told him to make it obvious he was military. Once he did, his tips more than doubled. Didn't help him much in Germany though.

Most are wealthier than we think. This site says you're in the top 10% if you make $150K. Of course, income is not necessarily wealth. LINK

It's well worth investing. I've seen LTCs retire and have to immediately move and take a shitty job because they can't float two months of bills. Seen SFC retire and do whatever they want. THe deployments make it really easy to stack money.

That math ain’t mathing. You are around 40 but haven’t had to work for need of money for the last 25 years. So you have been wealthy enough to not have to work for since you were 15ish years old. Someone die and leave you a boatload of money or something.

no one died, but no I did not ever have to work.

Still have to work month to month because there's not alot of liquidated funds but if I was 65 today and sold all my investments, stocks, HSA, and 401k we'd have a couple million

I'm fairly comfortable financially but i'm in my 50's. I remember making $3.35 per hour so I appreciate it.
My true wealth comes from my faith in Jesus Christ. My oldest just got baptized, he's 19 and did it on his own volition. He brought his girlfriend to Christ. My wife is a faithful warrior, who involuntarily makes me strive to be even more faithful.
I also have a great extended family who is doing the same. Finally I get to interact with you bunch of mooks which sometimes makes my day.

Yeah, I'm rich.

I debated for a solid 30 minutes whether I should upgrade my boarding position today on a Southwest flight for $55. I went for it. This is the lifestyle you wish you had.
