I work in O&G. Nobody gives a shite about any of this.

Our safety guy tried to push mandatory masks in common areas but no one wore them and he gave up after a day or 2.

I have been called names for not wearing a mask to prevent a virus that has infected .4% of Americans and is DEADLY to .1% of those .4% that got sick. I do however think people should use common sense, like staying home if they are sick, wash their hands when appropriate. Hopefully the employer base will be more forgiving with sick time moving forward to help prevent the spread of the Flu and other nasties at the work place. I don't expect masks to be the new normal, well at least a new normal I will participate in.

I mean, providing ample hand sanitizer seems like the least you can do. Not that big of a deal. Some of these requests are pretty minor. Providing masks for those who want to wear them doesn’t seem like a big deal either. Installing plexiglass seems like a PITA tho

Actually, I have gone along with all of this. We have everything I mentioned but the certification app, which I killed with a speech right out of Braveheart. The plexiglass is only for our receptionist.

I don't disparage anyone's concern over the virus. I just don't like being judged and told I don't care about people because I'm not running around with my hair on fire.

I enjoy watching grown adults panic over nothing. Ignorance has it’s consequences.

We just fired a guy who'd seemed really concerned about it.

I’m tired of listening to my coworkers’ conspiracy theories about Covid, if that counts.

No I'm a nurse in nola and none of the other nurses really give a shite, half are at the beach right now. All of them think things need to open up.

I'm at odds with my friends and family. At least the ones who get their news from CNN or have TDS.

Those frickers as are still convinced the sky is falling and even being on the front lines at ground zero, they will take some retard pundit or commentator over actual experiences of reality.

Yeah you just have to fire the dead weight now. The panic mongers are nothing more than an anchor on the American way of life now.

I’m somewhere between my “stay in lockdown till there’s a vaccine” coworkers and the lady who thinks the virus is a hoax and all the illness is caused by 5G towers.

Right. Don't care if anyone wears a mask as long as they don't bother npme for going sans mask.

The biggest chuckler is the "we are all in thiS together" bit. No, we aren't. Some are being forced to make total sacrifice while others haven't had their lives affected.

Never understood this with Obama or Trump. People making themselves miserable over something you cannot control. Hate is a destroyer, of the person who hates.

The constant “you are sheep if you choose to wear a mask” type posts on here and fb is annoying.

No more annoying than the people who are in constant fear and feel like we must stay shut down indefinitely and love to spout ” Enjoy catching it and dying” to those who are living their lives.

I have some coworkers who have been bitching constantly about the danger and having to come to work (we've worked this whole time as its a healthcare support field). One girl says she wished we'd all get "sprayed down with some kind of decon wash" coming in everyday. Mind you this is an office setting and everyone is in business casual attire. Most of us are taking basic precautions like washing hands a little more often, but that's about it. We've been supplied with masks, but no one is wearing them.

Not really. Most of us have been working from home at least 4 days a week since March.

I'm in a different position because I have a retail shop in Brooklyn.

I need to think about what makes customers feel comfortable. That's not particularly easy when, being a vinyl record shop, the majority of actual customers are 20-40 year olds and many of them are just tired of the shutdown and not that worried. However, the biggest spenders are older collectors who are just not going to come into a shop filled with people not paying much attention to safety protocols.

Just did a lot of changes this weekend: plexiglass in front of checkout counter, alcohol mist bottles to continually spray down things like headphones, fans in some windows to use AC as little as possible and recycle air. Will certainly enforce the mask policy in the shop too.

Employees are mainly just ready to re-open and mainly concerned about having to "police" anyone who comes into the shop refusing to follow the guidelines.

Different here though since there's been so many cases and almost everyone knows people that got pretty sick or died. Most of the strongest "open it right now" crowd do seem to see that things like wearing masks are facilitating opening and not being shut down again.
