Organ donation should be the mandatory default. You should have to go to the DMV and "opt out" of donation.

Same thoughts here. I'm getting a bit long in the tooth, but my lungs, kidneys, liver, heart, eyes, etc. still work pretty damn good and likely far better than any organs of folks that are on the list.
I plan on being cremated when I die, so what good is it to send organs that could be used to help someone live a better life go up in smoke.

I “coded” as they say. Heart stopped, breathing stopped. Had basically bled to death internally. I was “dead” for a few minutes. They revived me and did emergency open heart surgery to stop the bleeding from the sutures in my heart (I’d had open heart surgery one week before). They also did exploratory abdominal surgery to check and make sure my intestines hadn’t died. If thatchad been the case, they’d have let me go.

Yes I am. Of all the bad things I've done in life, I'd like for my last deed to be an honorable one to help others. Won't hurt on judgement day either. After they take what they want from me, they should be able to bury me in a shoe box.

I used to be a donor, but then my brain started working. It is not hard to find proof of medical professionals not doing everything they can to save organ donors. It's out there. If you think that's impossible, remember that there are thousands upon thousands of medical professionals who have no problem murdering and unborn child, and many of those who have no problem with the ghoulish practice of selling off the remains of their kill.
Then you add in the legitimate fact that many of those performing this work are getting wealthy beyond belief doing it, but not one of them gives a damn if your wife is going to have to turn tricks to pay the emergency room bill that made you a donor in the first place.
