Are they making hand sanitizer from tequila?

I have gone to a few places where they have the generic looking gallon pump jugs of sanitizer and after I rub it in my hands it smells like tequila. Of course why I sniff my hands is another question.

It's probably made out of neutral grain spirits and not agave.

Yes. They had that shite at my office gym. I hit it one day when I was wrapping up a hangover workout and almost puked.

Some of the distilleries have made hand sanitizers. Seems like a waste when we know that regular ol' drinking alcohol kills corona. Just stay drunk, and you don't have to worry. I've been drinking since early February.

This has happened to me quite a few times.
A lot of these distilleries are making hand sanitizer now so it’s possible they are adding some product in the sanitizer to just get rid of it.

It is grain neutral spirits. Several distilleries have started producing it

Maybe some other liquors but I don’t know why tequila would be in any of it

My friend told me the other day that the reason is there are two different active ingredients that kill germs in sanitizer.
One kind smells like tequila. I forget which one it is. But even some that aren't from distilleries smell like that.

It smells exactly like tequila. I've had one too many tequila hangovers and cant even use it.

Did I say Patron? More like Torada or some other rotgut. I would not think the proof was high enough to make sanitizer but at the price they are selling it for they could get a lot more for a gallon of sanitizer than for a gallon of rotgut bar brand liquor.

I noticed that too! I bought a bottle and almost threw up from the smell. I still have taste/smell aversion from college and I haven't had a sip in a decade. Oof.
ETA Its definitely a tequila smell versus whiskey, vodkas or even grain alcohol. Like Montezuma well tequila.

A local vodka distillery makes some in my area. I bought some in 5 gallon buckets for work. The guys just kept their small bottle and refill it when they start their workday.
