Are these proposed bio-diesel plants really going to be constructed?

A string of these have been proposed in Louisiana, but few have been built. What is the market for these biofuels? IIRC, states like California and New York are requiring that state owned vehicles operate on biofuels, but are probably going to switch to full EV within 20 years.

Strategic Biofuels - Columbia, LA.

Grön Fuels - Port Allen, LA

Are there any biodiesel operations that have been successful in the state besides diamond green/valero?

We are still going to need diesel in a large number of applications, I’d rather see them built in LA than right next door in MS or ALA.

No argument there. Just wondering when they are going to build all of the ones that are proposed.

The government has been subsidizing the "American Farmer" for decades. It won't stop anytime soon.

Columbia currently doesn't smell bad. Definitely doesn't need a Bastrop smell.

I do extensive consulting work on biofuels. Renewable diesel, which is different from traditional biodiesel, is all the rage these days. Traditional biodiesel is old news. Market is hot on the West Coast.

It’s all policy driven so it is a volatile market. These plants often don’t ever open or get shut down very soon after opening. A lot of them are fraudulent aimed at getting grants etc with no intention of ever actually producing product.

I am somewhat involved on the periphery with Gron (building construction) at both the EPC and owner level... yes it will go through.

Heard positive things on Strategic Biofuels but not involved at all.

Yep, procurement is well underway and civil work will begin soon. Will be close to ONE BEEELION DOLLARS and will quadruple production.

Who got the work? I heard that Turner got the module fab. Didn't hear anything on the rest of it other than a regret on the pipe fab
