Are there times when you shouldn’t say anything?

Why is it some people just don’t get it? Name a time when silence was in order but not observed.
I once saw a guy get booed silent 3 times before he realized nobody really want to hear him speak. He was asked to introduce himself to the squad, and each time he was told to shut up afterward. Finally his cc said no really please, and they still heckled him, then he realized he needed to just shut up. It took 3 times.

You have 2 ears and 1 mouth, so you ideally should do twice as much listening as you do talking.
Time to keep silent... Sales.... Listen to what people have to say. They love to tell you everything you need to know to make a sale. OR, you can talk yourself out of a sale by running your mouth.

Within the last 5 minutes I was explaining to a junior level employee what we need him to do today. He's clearly hungover, and pretty badly from his appearance, and doesn't care about what he's doing. I said nothing. As long as he gets the job done.

If he is worth keeping around then it is best to let him suffer. He will learn the lesson of planning out his drinking around work and vice versa

I have learned this after many years of marriage. It is much easier to let her say the dumb shite and learn the hard way than to correct her myself.
