This, mostly. A big problem with the pro-weed movement is that it still promotes the weed of today as if it's the weed of the pre-90s. They ignore that the stronger THC levels increase the potential for addiction as well as ignoring that prolonged use of high THC can lead to manic episodes (as proven by studies and meta studies).

This is a 100% fact. The neurological damage being done is being ignored.

Amazed at the normalization of smoking weed in the morning or during a work day is acceptable. Anyone drinking alcohol in the morning or during their work day would be considered an alcoholic and in need of help, yet pot smokers don’t see it that way.

That said, smoke that shite inside your crib and stop stinking up the public domain
If this were happening, this thread never begins.

Somewhere along the line, it became socially acceptable to walk around stoned all day.

Not everyone drives a forklift or runs a jackhammer on the freeway. Some of us reside in a result-oriented work domain. Nobody cares what you do as long as nobody is at risk and the money shows up on time.

Ive smoked for a long time and smoking in public (ecsp around non-smokers and families) is absolutely trash. Similar to cigs, nobody wants to smell your habit.

I don’t care what people do inside their own home. I just don’t want to smell that nasty stuff everywhere I go.

Not to mention alcohol is insanely more harmful to people yet every other commercial is some celeb selling a new brand of liquor.

It’s truly amazing the stranglehold alcohol has. It is literally directly involved in more than double the OD deaths of all other drugs combined and it gets the smoothest pass you are likely ever to see.

No one likes to talk about how alcohol destroys families but let’s pick on the dude down the road for lighting a spliff after work.

lol.

Depends on the job.

Alcohol takes longer to wear off, is more harmful and if you are on a run will cause shaking etc etc etc.

I’ve never seen someone get stoned and go gun down anyone

Half of the murders committed in this country had at least one party under the influence of alcohol.

The numbers speak for themselves but will be ignored. Hooray alcohol!

I feel most employers would rather their employees not partake in mind/mood altering substances while on the clock

I feel you are correct.

If only they got to see each employees morning pill regimen, this wouldn’t seem so bad.

People are smoking weed to cope with the shitty world we live in.
If you don’t fix that, and choose to make weed illegal instead, they will just find a new cure to their problem.
The new cure will almost certainly be far worse for them, and our society, than just weed, bro.

You're side lost, get over it. This opinion is held mainly in a dying generation of people. Despite your outrage more states will continue to legalize it, with federal legalization not far off.

I supported legalization. I didn’t support smelling that nasty shite wherever I go.

How can you possibly conceptualize freedoms as privileges to be granted or revoked at the discretion of the state
For starters, the concept has essentially only existed for the period of the American experiment, and its existence has changed over time.

And freedoms are a privilege. They are a privilege we should nurture and try our best to maintain.

The minute someone with a bigger gun or stronger army wants to rescind those freedoms, they will.

Just look at England as an example of how that goes. The one with the power makes the rules.
