They seem to fail a lot in these high profile cases. I wouldn't mind something a bit stronger, if it was more effective. Is there anything better, like a quick acting tranquilizer? Some people might still die, but maybe moving to less lethal methods will satisfy people. Make the gun a last option and authorize lethal force only when absolutely necessary..

Complete deployment is very effective. Unfortunately, the numbers for EBRSO, LPSO AND APSO are that it’s only deployed with complete effectiveness about 3 out of ten times.

National numbers are similar.

Once the leads are deployed, removed, the hand to hand stun gun feature is usually effective if the poi doesn’t have a lethal weapon besides his hands.

It depends on how it’s used.

I remember that from what I’ve seen, it was always taught effective range was 15 to 20 feet. Anything less and no, it’s not really effective in stopping someone. You want the two prongs to be as far apart as possible so the electric shock will seize up the whole body. When used in close proximity, it hurts but doesn’t incapacitate

No. If it’s a lean person and you have good contact, extremely effective. A large person with a decent amount of fat —no. Any person with bad contact —no.

do we really want to move to being a society that doesnt have to listen to police? This guy was not the best of characters. who's choice is it that lethal force is absolutely necessary? why should an officer have to put his life on the line if a scumbag wants to be combative and reach or possess weapons?

Taser, mace/pepper spray, baton, rubber bullets, cs gas, pepper balls, water cannons

Ya, I guess we could use maybe just one more before some dumbass rapist listens.

I have thought it was comical for probably 10 years when tards on here comment about why didn’t he taze him.

Been tazed multiple times back in my security operations days after the USMC

That shite is a terrible weapon.

Unless it has the perfect spread from a person from their thighs/calf to their shoulder blade, the taser doesn’t do much of shite.

The real problem is that officers would are scared to put hands on someone get too close and the prongs can’t spread far enough so the taxing part has very little effect.

Would also depend on how high the person was I assume.

Liberals will say, “shoot them in the leg if you have to shoot”.

True. Local department is currently switching to the newest model Taser which will have a redesigned cartridge that will shoot the two prongs out at like 12 degrees apart vs the "old" which was only like 3 to combat the problem of close quarters.

link below for those interested.

Exactly, I keep seeing over and over in these posts, well why did they have to shoot? They could have XYZ. Mother fricker everyone knows police have guns and have to make split second life altering decisions, you may not intend to be that threat to them, but they have no knowledge of your intentions. So rather why didn’t the officers do such, why didn’t the dumb piece of shite just listen to them?

It is.

When you your life is endangered....lethal force is authorized.

Your life endangered = absolutely necessary.

You don't take chances with your life.
