you think solid parenting is going to fly in the face of pure hormonal driven primal instincts?

It condones sex IMO. The last thing I need is to be a grandparent (basically a parent).
The very last thing a teen would wonder if presented an opportunity for sex will be what you as a parent will think.
Pills aren't condoning. Your kid is going to have sex before they are 18.

I think once these kids' hormones kick in they're capable of sex at anytime they find a willing party. They're naive enough to think they'll never get pregnant or impregnate the partner. It's the parent's responsibility to not be caught up in naivety and actually protect their kids from themselves.

Holy over-reaction batman.
Girls with confidence and self-respect aren't hornballs?
I hope you're trolling with this bullshite.
ETA:
I refuse to argue the other point of lumping in birth control with pills and illegal drugs. That's just an embarrassing argument.

I mean, you're a young dude and a teen girl does this to you and the last thing you're thinking about is responsibility.

What were you doing at 14?

She's not "going to do it anyway" at 15 if she was raised with some class and dignity.
We all know girls who came from great families who liked to slut it up. It happens. Or some guy she really likes tells her he loves her and in a moment of weakness decides to have sex. It happens.
I know that I'd never want to raise a 15 year olds baby.

(My comment about illegal drugs was probably stupid but I was more replying to the notion of parenting having no effect. Forget that part please my bad).

I think the people in here that wouldn't give their kids some type of protection should buddy up with a pediatric doctor or nurse and see how common it is for a 15 year old to get pregnant these days.

Maybe a troll, maybe not. Definitely naive!

When we were 16, a H.S. girlfriends parents put her in the pill for various reasons (or so they told her). They were pillars of their community, he was a deacon in a southern Baptist church. It never changed any sexual dynamic between us. She was a good girl, raised "right" and her values didn't change for being in the pill.

Putting a 15 year old birth control is just smart. I don't know a single person that was still a virgin at 16. I got my daughter the implant at 15.
A 16 year old having sex is not the worst thing that can happen. A 16 year old having a baby is close to the top of the list of worst things that can happen.

If I had a son I would hope like hell this is his HS girlfriend.
