Are landlocked states off-putting compared to their coastal counterparts?

Take for instance a Nebraska, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Colorado, etc...compared to the Carolina's, Florida, Texas, California, etc...
Is living in a coastal state indispensable, or do you simply don't care where you live geographically speaking?

Depends what you like to do.
An avid deer hunter would love to live in an Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, etc..

For me it is to an extent, but it just depends on what I'm looking for in a given point in life. I could easily live in a beautiful inland state. That fits the Colorado/Montana mold more than the Tennessee/arkansas mode.
I think its my love of history that makes me subconsciously associate coastline with connection to the rest of the world.

Tennessee and Colorado and much more attractive states to live in than say....Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana.

When I moved back to Nashville, I missed being able to go to the beach on a moment's notice. Now I don't really care. I have lakes and mountains and rivers to keep me occupied.

Don't you just mean a certain proximity to the coast? Not necessarily a state with a coast. If you live in Dallas, do you consider that living on the coast?

Kansas and Nebraska would be the only completely no-go land locked states for me. The only redeemable quality either has are quality bird hunting opportunities.

Colorado is the top place I've lived so far. I'll take mountains over coast if forced to chose. I may take residence on the NW Pacific next. Mountains and coastline.

There are a few inland states that are pretty cool (Tennessee and Colorado especially), but I prefer the coast personally.

I couldn't imagine living in a landlocked state. I love the coast.

My brothers love Kansas, it's a great place to raise their families. Great schools, extremely safe, very good standard of living.
It's boring too, though, and I've chosen to live elsewhere.

Living in a coastal state in not indispensible for me but I need to be within reasonable driving distance of the beach or reasonable flying distance of the caribbean.
