Ever have a dog ask you to help them move, in August, using your pickup?

I can hire somebody to do that. My dog is always glad to see me, never complains, and has no ulterior motives. Just being with me makes him happy and vice versa. You cant always say that about even your closest friend, parent, or spouse.

If you pick out a random person vs a random dog - odds are the dog will be better companionship.

But if you get to select a person, give them your best and see how they respond..(rinse and repeat until you find a spouse and best friend) ... the person is much better than the dog.

This is bullshite. The dog desn’t have human emotions. People project their own feelings onto their animal. The dog operates on an instinctual level far below that of a human infant.

Your dogs “feeling” for you is not even a faint echo of human love.

No, but they do have emotions, dog emotions.

My daughter's dog is so protective of her. She got him when she was 2 and he still growls at me when I raise my voice at her. They are wonderful creatures. Every kid should have a dog.

Yep. Dogs and humans have an extremely strong bond and yes, feel "love" for each other.

The human/dog relationship is one of the awesome things about nature...

We had an overflowing toilet a few months back. Our little dog barked at my wife as soon as she walked in the door, ran to the back of the house and came back. He started scratching her leg until she followed him. He was showing her something was wrong.

Some dogs are incredibly intelligent and fiercely loyal. Arguing otherwise just seems odd to me.

It’s like calling a toddler your best friend. That’s a real deep connection you’ve got there.

I am. I’ve had dogs my whole life. They stay outside where animals belong. We’re not friends, I feed them and take care of them and they perform a function for me. They eat shite, we don’t kiss. Humans that think they connect with dogs better than with humans are social retards. Period.

I love dogs but I came to lament the fact that we haven’t truly domesticated any other animal. Like wtf. We’ve had enough time. You think we’d have a couple more companion animals on the dogs level

It can't be explained to you, but you're missing out on a helluva lot.

That’s funny because Autistics are sometimes treated with exposure to animals, since they can’t really connect with humans.

I’ve spent more time around animals than most and many dog breeds definitely serve a purpose. Some people are undeniably weirdos when it comes to animals, though, and there is the dog-equivalent of a bunch of piss-smelling crazy cat ladies up in here.

If you put dogs, cats, horses or whaetever animal you love and think loves you back on the same level as humans, you’re touched in the head.

I’m missing dog hair on my clothes. I like my dogs just fine, but as controversial as this is, I get along with humans even better.

I think they both have their purposes. Human to human interaction is far more important than a relationship with a dog. But that doesn’t mean that a dog and human relationship is without utilities, they clearly are.

Generally, a human friend is somebody that will be honest with you, challenge you, is happy when you do good things and is unhappy and will try to keep you from doing bad things. A true human friendship will make you a better, more well rounded individual.

A dog will always be there for you and will always love you.

A dog will be your loyal sidekick forever.

A human won't. They have their own lives.

Liking animals more than humans indicates serious emotional problems, often of a controlling nature
