Was curious if I'd see this interaction make its way to TD. Long time lurker here but think I may have seen this exact thing play out if in the south upper (422 or 423, I don't remember) and feel the need to set this straight. The guy did not push the "stander" in the situation I witnessed. He patted his back in what seemed to be an attempt to calm the stander down after his request.

Was in the 2nd quarter I believe and we were up a million to zero. The guy standing had stood the most of the game and would stand at weird times, not yelling or anything just standing. Guy behind him had every right to be upset. It became a joke to all of us a few rows behind him as he berated the alleged "pusher" about his right to stand. Would be curious if he is a big supporter of Eric Reid or Colin Kaepernick and their right to kneel.

IMHO, its about being courteous to your fellow fans around you, not your right to stand. And I think that is spelled out in your fan guide each year. This was Ga Southern and we were up 35-0 in the 2nd quarter or whatever it was. This wasn't 3rd and 5 against Alabama when everyone SHOULD be standing and yelling.

As for Tiger Stadium not being what it was, your profile says you are 28 years old... What do you know about what Tiger Stadium was? Alabama beat us like 30 straight years at home during the "golden era" of the Tiger Stadium you yearn for. Sure the crowd is a factor but talent and coaching mean a hell of a lot more.

Tiger Stadium still brings it when it needs it and if you feel the need to stand for the whole Ga Southern game, move to the student section or buy season tickets on a top row. Thank God my normal tickets aren't in this section. I wouldn't look forward to dealing with the guy I witnessed all season.

The atmosphere in Tiger Stadium has deteriorated significantly over the last five years. Tiger Stadium was once one of the most fearsome sporting venues in the entire world. I can say that with no exaggeration. It was a marvel

Sometimes I wonder if it's not for the best. I'd stayed home for '82 Florida State and watched on TV. Had I been there, no doubt I would have participated... but watching on a national broacast, I felt embarrassed for the spectacle. I'm not sure how many were injured by the tens of thousands of oranges raining down on the Seminoles but the TV broadcast, both visual and commentary, portrayed us as utterly classless.

Probably not one of our finer moments in the public perception of LSU fans. It came across as really poor winners, taunting and viciously pelting the losing opponents...granted it wasn't stones but an orange has a little mass...and a literal shower of tens of thousands traveling downward from several stories up... the trajectories had great distance and gravity to pick up speed. It was pretty brutal on the receiving end as well as shown live on national network TV. Again, I can't say I wouldn't have particpated I'd not stayed home, but it did sober me up a bit about the short-sighted mentality of the fans and how intensity could go over the top at times.

Think about if the shoe was on the other foot... defeated Tiger players are pummeled by several tons of one pound projectiles thrown by 80,000, out-of-control, winning fans at Doak Campbell ...and the LSU Tiger football team humiliated as losers, running for their lives on national TV while Florida St. fans openly batter them... the entire stadium pelting the Tigers with tens of 1000's of oranges from every direction.. Had I not watched on TV and been there at Tiger Stadium, it would've probably been a fricken' blast. But from a distance, it did not look well thought out ..and we looked ignorant and classless to many around the country.

Happens every year, and I haven't had to ask the standing fan to sit more than once. Has never been a problem, and I've gone to LSU football games for a very long time.

LSU and TAF did that by destroying the institution through price-gouging, parking restrictions, destroying tailgating, shutting down frats, banning smoking, holistic admissions, catering to out-of-state students and foreign nationals at the expense of Louisiana kids, consistently putting the students beyond last, playing poverty in front of the cameras while their budget grew without failure every single year, and SJW virtue signaling. The fans are only as good as the institution they support, and LSU has made it known that it’s an institution that doesn’t give a rats arse about it’s students, it’s athletic programs, the ticket-holders, the donors, the traditions, it’s history, it’s facilities, the taxpayers of this state, or anything else, so why should we give a flying f$&k about LSU?

I say this a lifelong Louisianian who earned two degrees there and can count on one hand the number of games he’s missed over the past 15 seasons. My father has had season tickets for half a century, and even he finally gave them up this year despite knowing the team would be excellent. You can’t get blood from a stone, yet the prices go up every year. We’ve learned to expect nothing but incompetence, greed, and at best callous indifference if not wanton disdain from the university administration, so why continue to give money to people who hate us, everything we love, everything we believe in, and everything we loved about LSU in particular. As long as F. King is there, they won’t get one red cent from me. Let him burn the University to the ground and live in the ashes.

Don’t go to the game. Stay home and use that time to address your functional illiteracy through remedial education. You’ll also contribute to others enjoyment of the game by your absence.

All LSU fans should be welders, drive trucks, and revolve every aspect of their lives around football.
Don’t forget to call in to the sports talk shows to give your expert opinions.

And bitch. Do lots of bitching. That also makes a great fan.
The media, the referees, the other coaches, and the ghost of Christmas past are all aligned against LSU.

When you go on vacation, especially to the beach, you need to wear and pack a shiton of LSU clothes and gear.
This ladies and gentlemen is what being a “real fan” is all about.
