Going on the field after a big game is fun

What do you do once you're down there? I don't know anyone down there, so I guess I just don't really get the concept.

Nothing really, just enjoy the atmosphere and high five a few players. It’s not like you stay on the field all night

I don't recall if there were any games where people rushed the field while I was in the student section.

We totally would have stayed to the end of the game had we been sitting somewhere else. We really did leave early cause we were nervous about being crushed. I can remember there were a lot of huge guys that were really drunk sitting around us. It was just the two of us girls, we didn't go with a group of people so no other guys there that we knew to watch out for us.

well to answer the OPs question, yes

this current crop as best illustrated by this thray are a bunch of pussies. In the olden days lsu fans never sat, not even at home. Its a well-known fact that prior to 1951 there were no seats at stadia..eveyone stood.

part of the de-evolution of mankind is constant siting which can also be proven on this board

I understand. It’s not like it used to be, more corporate seating, folks more concerned with the tailgating, cell phones, etc.
But the fan base shows up and does it’s part in big games when the team is in it. I promise you that when Florida comes to town, TS and the fan base will represent all that you remember.

the 97 Florida game

I was a 15 year old kid working the concession stand in the student section of that game, matched most of the 3rd quarter and the entire 4th quarter from the tunnel because no one was leaving their seats to buy anything. I remember running towards the field and nearly head first into a huge state trooper after the final play. He asked if I was planning on going on the field and all I could do was nod with an oh shite look on my face. Then he said "Well what the frick are you waiting for?" And opened the gate.

It was pretty insane on the field and thought for most of the time I was going to get trampled. Some coed decided it would be a good time to take off her shirt and sling it around her head, and I'd agree it was definately a great decision. It was the first time I'd seen a set of tits that close, and they were glorious. It was quickly followed by my first motorboat when she caught me staring, pushed them in my face and then gave them a few shakes. Also glorious and I can tell you as a 15 year old boy I did not feel victimized.

A little later the goalpost came down and some drunk frat bro decided I should ride it. Was a pretty awesome experience but I was getting pretty nervous the closer we got up the stands, especially when it became clear the intention was to throw it out the stadium. Dismounting was not nearly as easy as being thrown on top to begin with.

Scruffy also doubts that the OP even went to LSU.

Scruffy postulates that most of the insane, diehard fans for all fan bases aren’t even alumna.

They are sidewalk/Walmart fans.
