I just knew one day that I'd read on here the ins & outs on how to get fed on the freebies.

I try to time my visits to coincide with feeding time.

When we had a small child we saved a fortune on formula and diapers there.

The liquor is cheap af. Especially, if you go the Kirkland brand route. You can buy litres of vodka for $28. Costco ironically has a great wine selection too. You can get CAKEBREAD chard, or Leonetti Cab and save a ton.

The gas is better quality than racetrack. I've save a ton by filling up. Gas is .30 cheaper per gallon on average.

Kirkland actually makes their own wines and vodka, not sure about the beer, they've also come out with a supposedly perfect replicated version of Bailey's Irish Cream, don't know if it's in stores yet, I was surprised at how big Costco is into wines, probably one of the biggest sellers of wine in the U.S.

No, they have their own brand from a contract manufacturer. They have a French vodka (supposedly grey goose) that's under $30. They have and American vodka that's less than $20. They even have Kirkland signature microbrew. Though I haven't seen that since Louisiana.

that's kind of what I would have thought but my wife works for a pretty good sized wine importer and their biggest client is Costco, I met a higher up at Costco and asked him about this, unless he was lying that's was what he told me, I would imagine that that's probably how they initially entered the market

I use to date a chick that worked at Costco Corporate as a Buyer. She said the have strong relationships with various top wineries in WA, the Williamette Valley in OR, and Napa. Everyone and their mother wants exposure inside Costco to help promote sales.

that's a fact, they've also got some wine operations down in Mendoza, Arg, pretty interesting (to me,) to learn how extensive their operation is, I always just assumed that they were just a big box middle man

Costco buyers definitely have their stuff together and have channel management down on point. It's hard to get a job at Costco corporate outside of tech. They require you to have one year in retail and a college degree in business before you'll get a chance at buying. No one ever leaves because the money is great, and beni's are what keep people grounded there. Someone basically, has to die before job opportunities in buying open up.

True but they add a certain percentage to your total for non-members.

They offer it, so I eat it. What's the problem?

Average Costco sample food runs around 300 calories. Plenty of food for lunch.

Think of Sam Club but cleaner.

Kirklands brand stuff is usually solid too. Kirklands is Costcos "Great Value".

I hit up the freebie food too if I'm there and they're serving it, but I don't strategically plan on being there at the optimum times to receive it and to rely on it.

I'm a Costco freak, I buy everything there- gas, booze, beer & wine, all kinds of food & dairy, electronics, healthcare products, prescription drugs, protein powder & bars and clothing. They have great deals on Under Armour and Nike workout gear and I've purchased Lucky jeans for half the price you will find online. I love the Kirkland brand whole bean coffee and 2 lbs for only $9.

You'll find random high end shite there too. Examples.... Breitling watches, Big Green Egg, vitamix and blend-tec blenders.

The Costco in North Scottsdale always carries Rolex (usually men's & women' Datejusts) and Cartier watches. About a year ago they had a special version of a Rolex Yachtmaster for $36K, $8k off what you would purchase at an authorized Rolex dealer. I was told they get them through the gray market, which I took to mean from a Rolex dealer who went out of business or something similar.

They also frequently carry $17k bottles of some rare scotch and said some businessman comes in and buys five bottles and resells them for a premium in Japan.

EDIT: Pic & link added, Google is a wonderful thing

Macallan scotch

I remember reading something about the diamonds they sell at Costco. That they are actually good quality stones and that someone shouldn't just totally dismiss buying jewelry from Costco.
