Are beggars / homeless people missing a golden opportunity

I mean there are people who get paid to stand by the road holding signs for businesses. A beggar would just be promoting his own business.
If I saw someone holding a sign with a QR code on it with an amazon affiliate link, I would be much more inclined to snap a pic and make an amazon purchase that I would have made anyway, rather than throw a dollar out the window.
Is this stupid or am I on to something here?

How would they get the commission? I doubt many beggars have bank accounts.

Can you use Apple wallet at liquor stores or to buy cigarettes? Do any crack dealers take Apple wallet? You know the money is just gonna go to alcohol and drugs.

Maybe a poor word choice but it seems like they pay them. They will have every person in that area wearing a Gordon shirt but some will have them over sweatshirts and shite A homeless person can't be that excited to wear their new Gordon gear
