Your not a pessimist. The very fact that Trump has engaged them at all is more than ANY President has done, ever, since the cessation of hostilities of the Korean conflict. That is a simple fact. I never expected them to give up their nuke program, but just the fact that he engaged them was a very good thing. It's more than any sniveling leftist would be capable of.

I read a book about North Korea and the government. I honestly don't understand why they are considered such a big threat.
They say all of these things, make videos and alter them to look as if they are putting the United States in its place to create propaganda to show to its people.. Who are only allowed to watch whatever the government allows them to watch. And they have very restricted internet and can only view material approved by the government. Everything they do is pretty much used to make KJU look like a really powerful leader.
They lack the capability to shoot a bomb that could hit the great 48.. If things go perfect, they could reach Alaska or Hawaii..
The only reason NK hasn't been blown off the map is because they are ally to China

Well, yeah...no other president or national security adviser or state department wanted to legitimize the Kim regime by having bilateral meetings with the nutjobs......except dumbass Trump.
So now Dear Leader looks more important to his impoverished people because he got photo ops with the POTUS. But at least he got some headlines to distract from Russia.

NK has been exponentially quieter under Trump than he ever was under Obama. . . So there is a win.
In the end, NK owns its destiny.
Why we don't just toss a couple of missiles on their nuclear facilities is beyond me. It's like whack a mole, but it would knock them back significantly if we just leveled their nuclear facilities.
