True, and I'd say "if that was really yours" but you did provide some proof (emphasis on "some").

Have a nice afternoon, I'm heading out.

Threads like this are creepy because there's a 98% chance that Yougogurl is a guy...an older, out of shape, socially awkward guy. I guess the 2% brings them hope.

So you have one conversation with a doctor who makes money off of fear and change your position totally because you "respect" him? LOL. You are one weak bitch.

Ask him why autism rates have skyrocketed.

I have no position other than no way a fricking doc will ever stack those shots on my kids, period!

Doctors don't get paid by pharma companies.

Autism rates have skyrocketed because for decades it was misdiagnosed as mental retardation, not to mention the "spectrum" has grown.

Of course, I'm assuming you're being serious (unfortunately).

More is being learned. See info/link I posted earlier on vitamin D

LINK

If you want to put your thinking cap on (I am not sure you have one however...), read this

LINK

quote:

Serotonin and vitamin D have been pro- posed to play a role in autism; however, no causal mechanism has been established. Here, we present evidence that vitamin D hormone (calcitriol) activates the transcription of the serotonin-synthesizing gene tryptophan hydroxylase 2 (TPH2) in the brain at a vitamin D response element (VDRE) and represses the transcription of TPH1 in tissues outside the blood-brain barrier at a distinct VDRE. The proposed mechanism explains 4 major characteristics associated with autism: the low concentrations of serotonin in the brain and its elevated concentrations in tissues outside the blood- brain barrier; the low concentrations of the vitamin D hormone precursor 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D3]; the high male prevalence of autism; and the presence of maternal antibodies against fetal brain tissue. Two peptide hormones, oxytocin and vasopressin, are also associated with autism and genes encoding the oxyto- cin-neurophysin I preproprotein, the oxytocin recep- tor, and the arginine vasopressin receptor contain VDREs for activation. Supplementation with vitamin D and tryptophan is a practical and affordable solution to help prevent autism and possibly ameliorate some symptoms of the disorder.

LINK

quote:

Serotonin regulates a wide variety of brain functions and behaviors. Here, we synthesize previous findings that serotonin regulates executive function, sen- sory gating, and social behavior and that attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and impulsive behavior all share in common defects in these functions. It has remained unclear why supplemen- tation with omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D improve cognitive function and behavior in these brain disorder

Do not frick up your kids because you are ignorant....

So as autism has skyrocketed, retardation rates have plundered at the same rate?

Doctors get paid by coding a service performed in-office. The process is coded and more most goes to docs who administer more shots/drugs.

Do you disagree?

Yoga Girl. Sup?

I don't think that you should lower yourself to the creeps on this board. I could say some smart arse comment like "I would love to blast off on you!" but that is tacky and distasteful IMO. Do you agree?

I don't know if you ever visit Georgia but if you find yourself over this way in the next day or two we could go to Foxhall Farms and ride horses. Okay?

Those people legitimately have a screw loose. It's unreal. They will dismiss mountains of actual medical research, meta-analyses, all done by real doctors and medical organizations across the globe.

But then those people believe as gospel truth the unsupported rantings of one or two whackjobs (who themselves later recanted their position or were found to be crooked), or point to websites that are in no way supported by actual science and presented with no visibility into the details upon which said absurd point is being made.

It truly is amazing how people can be so dumb. It would be fascinating if it wasn't so brain-numbingly absurd.

I do not come here to argue

I try to chime in with info that I have knowledge in that can benefit folks (especially if it appears it will help someone unfrick themselves).

I am very receptive to the idea of being wrong and more importantly learning why I am wrong
