I would just love for Verot to be finished.

Is it just me or does it feel like there may be some drainage problems below Ambassador when it's done. The new "road" is well below plane by several feet in some areas and completely submerged after even a small afternoon shower.

I just noticed the other day that they are still on one of the lanes. Its taken years for ONE LANE.

It's Louisiana tax efficiency in a nutshell, and Hendo I'm sure you'd be cool. I wouldn't judge.

It's ridiculous. I noticed that as well. The new concrete road is feet lower than the original one, and it's already a flood plain. I don't know where the water will go. Watching them bust up the original road in a year or two is going to be a spectacle

I don't have a single clue why they are building the new road so low. Of course it's going to flood.

hoping for a 1 bed/bath for under $800.

I lived at Grove at Plantation off Kaliste Saloom near Ambassador when I first moved to Lafayette. It's a joint complex with Plantation of Lafayette. Grove is a little bit older but some of the units have been update and the surrounding complex is nice.

Updated 1 bed 1 bath 626 Sq ft. $735/month

LINK

There's a Legends right by the complex as well as Dix Daiquiris which draws a decent crowd for their Friday Karaoke nights. Not the greatest bars ever but easy walking distance. River Ranch is also right up the road.

Below Ambassador flooded in spots when it rained for more than 30 minutes. I just don't know how it will even be navigable in some spots. I'm not even talking about flash floods, just normal South Louisiana popup thunderstorms.

Supposedly they made the road lower to help flooding issues for the houses and businesses on either side of the road.

It seems like they could have just fixed the drainage issues while they were tearing the ground up. Now those homes and businesses will be inaccessible anytime we get an inch of rain.

I just realized that everyone of those businesses are going to have to have new driveways as will those side roads. It's going to look like a row of boat ramps with the grade they're going to have to have on them to the new road.

I hate to break it to you, but the reason it's taken so long to get to this point is because they've been working on drainage.

Pepper Tree Apartments. Right behind Lowes on Ambassador. Wife and I lived there before we moved back to Baton Rouge.

No way. 1 bedroom and 1 bath is like $950 max. I know people that have it in the $800 range.

I looked at apartments in Main Street 5 years ago, and the 1 bedrooms were $1100. I'm sure the price has increased since then.

I was paying $635 at Bayou Oaks in 2015. 1Br 1bath 680sqft? It's behind the Walmart on Pinhook/Verot.
