I just got a job offer to work in Youngsville, and I'm wondering what apartments y'all would recommend. I'm 28, single, no pets, and hoping for a 1 bed/bath for under $800.

I'm not a huge partier, but would like to perhaps live within walking distance to some bars. TIA.

Don't.

Living in either Lafayette or youngsville would suck. I can't stand to drive through them. Find a nice place outside of the city and just drink at home. Set up a nice Farmers meet account and get you a nice girl from down the bayou who can cook and clean real good.

Seriously though, I have no idea where you would want to live. I don't like living in the city, so I really can't stand Youngsville or Lafayette. I work in Lafayette and commute from the countryside, just my preference and always has been.

I don't think you're going to find anything decent in that area for $800. I was paying $900 for a 1 bed/1 bath (with attached garage) in 2012.

Besides Corner Bar in Youngsville there isn't much in the way of bars. If I were you(assuming you are young) Id find a decent 2/3BR around the Saint streets and put up with some roommates. You're close to downtown, Johnston St bars and will see plenty of UL broads walking around.

The commute from the saint street areas to youngsville everyday would suck.

Did you just describe Youngsville as the city?

Youngsville is the country

ETA: I'd live in river ranch if I was going to live in an apartment

Hitting 90 and cutting through that way would be pretty quick.

Renting in Lafayette is way cheaper than people think

Find some roommates or kick your budget up to $900-$950. The only decent apartments under $800 would put you at Grand Pointe off Kaliste. I would definitely look into Laffayette for what you're looking for in regards to walking distance to bars. Youngsville is the middle class family mecca, you're not going to find much "fun" unless the oilfield picks up and you want to be Jody to some very nice looking young MILF.

This is such a ridiculously stupid post, for many reasons.

Maybe, depending on where at in youngsville. Obviously River Ranch is the best option for him if he can swing the rent. Plenty to do and relatively easy commute to Youngsville.

Seconded, especially if I was single. Plus if you're bored you can always Uber to the "Strip" for fairly cheap from there and chase some ULL sorostitutes.

Agave and Apache within a 1/2 mile of one another on Chemin.
