River Ranch and Saint Sts are definitely best areas if young and single.

I live in Youngsville now, and kind of regretting it. I'd rather be in Lafayette. I lived in Main Street Apartments in River Ranch and liked it. Gym membership is included which is nice. It's walking distance to bars and restaurants. I think it was 900 a month but that was 3 years ago.

Thanks for all the replies so far. I will be working offshore sometimes, hence why I don't want to pay too much for a place to live. It's also why I would prefer not having roommates, but it seems I'll be paying 900+ unless I get roommates.

Depends on the night, might just be growing pains because they're both new, but I've had good meals/experiences at both of their respective Youngsville locations since they've opened over there.

What's there to do for single folk out there besides Corner Bar?

Renting in Lafayette is way cheaper than people think

Not really, you can buy a 3 bedroom house for the same price as a 1 bedroom apartment. That being said I loved living at Mainstreet apartments.

1 bed/bath for under $800.

Not going to find anything nice for under 800, baw. There are some condos on E. Bayou that are in a great area and a quick commute to Youngsville but you'll be closer to 900-1000.

Compared to Baton Rouge or New Orleans, Lafayette is extremely affordable.

Under 800 I would say The Landing. It is on the edge of River Ranch all between Settlers Trace, Kaliste Saloon, and Ambsador Caffery.

Both of those are overpriced as well. You can get a lot more for your money in Houston and it's a better city.

Don't they have an agave out there now too?

They're putting a Walkon's in Broussard near the Celebrity Theater, Parish Brewery is right off of 90, as well. 10 minute drive or so from Youngsville and they do Trivia and stuff. Youngsville and Broussard have new athletic facilities that have adult league softball.

In the loop? Good luck. Suburban Houston is pretty reasonable.

I drove through St Julien after stopping by Parish Saturday, and that place is ridiculous. Kudos to Broussard for one upping Youngsville in the keeping up with the Jones' comp they have going. Your move Youngsville.

The Broussard vs Youngsville rivalry is hilarious. There's absolutely no need for two mega parks that close to each other. Also hilarious that they couldn't name the new high school Youngsville High because the Broussard people are pissed off about it.
