Depends on what you're looking to do.

About 10 years ago knew several grad students who bought a condo off Parker for around 100K, lived in it for 4-5 years with a roomate who paid 2/3 of mortgage note. Then sold for $150K-$175K. Not sure those kind of opportunities still exist.

You may be better off finding an older home near university lakes, fix it up over time, there are still a few without central air.

My college girlfriend's parents were fairly well off. They bought a condo when my girlfriend started LSU and had her get a roommate that paid almost half of the mortgage.

She lived in for 4-5 years and then her younger brother lived in it after her. Her dad later sold it for 70k more than he paid for it. It's a great route to go if you can afford it.

Rent a house. Screw living in a box. I have done both.

There's some condos like that in the complex across from Bogie's. I don't know if any are currently for sale or not, but it's a really nice complex.

Why do they refuse to put a turn signal on Nicholson at that intersection? That's way past stupid....

Les Miles fourth floor corner apartment is for sale at Field House. Can see entire stadium from the balcony. I just went with Victory Commons for my college age kids. It is across the street-which is very nice. They have two 3 bedroom and 3 baths currently on

A little less expensive is Highland Village. It was high cotton when I was in college, still nice.

They’ve built some new ones off highland between Lee & w Parker. Or there’s always something off Perkins & Stanford in southdowns.

Are you a college student or work at LSU? If not, why would you want to live near LSU?

Could try southgate apartments.Lived there for 4-5 years. Parking garage, next to tiger land, mileish from campus. Think the middle section rooms are 3 bed three bath. That or the top floor. Think its roughly $1700+. Mightve gone up by now

for a reasonable price, the best is Highland Village II. Gated and no thugs.

Tigerland is apparently a complete hellhole, yet right next door on Brightside you have people paying half a million dollars for a condo. Baton Rouge real estate doesn't make sense.
