W&J exist because of Steven’s and Pruett - they were the original shock jocks.

They were actually called Hudson and Harrigan at first. They got cross ways with management and left their former station to join the new station where they rebranded as S&P. I think they got fired at least two or three times through the years.

And who can forget Uncle Waldo?

Stern imitators during the shock jock days of radio. lol! at what radio has become. No one even cares anymore

Because no one listens to the radio anymore. None of my kids listen to the radio. They all use Spotify or some other service and just listen to music.

There is debate about it mainly because Walton and Johnson outlasted them. But I remember being in Houston in 1990 and they would advertise themselves as the Radio Gods....don't remember WJ doing that, but not like I paid that much attention....so could be.

At WJ's height they were a lot funnier IMHO. Steve had a cast of characters he did beyond Mr Kenneth, O and Billy Ed. The Story Guy used to be a gut buster. Periodically Abdul Kamal Jockey. 7/11 manager would get you going. Walter Crankcase, the Most Crusted Voice in News from his Oaken Orifice.

They were not as political back then and the characters used to get skewered and dogged out by John Walton.

Great radio show. Pruett had Pruett's Guns and Ammo out in Cy-Fair after retiring. It was a pretty cool spot. I have a t-shirt somewhere that said something like "Your Anti-Terrorist Headquarters."

They did a point spread one day on location in NOLA.

Gals would bend over topless and they would measure the distance between nips.
