Because .5 milligrams of xanax is serious narcotics abuse and I should immediately seek counseling rather than employment, right? Benzos work, dude. They would help anyone in an interview type of atmosphere

you can't even get through an interview without needing some kind of medication. you might be closer to this than you think.

I have a job interview tomorrow morning and will be unable to find a Xanax/Valium/Klonopin on such short notice. I'm pretty well adapted socially but tend to get a bit nervous in settings with a more serious tone. I'm sure I'll do well regardless, just looking for something that'll help me loosen up and take the edge off

If you need the help of a prescription narcotic to simply get through a first interview, you have MUCH bigger problems than the lack of a job. Get some counseling or see a shrink or something.

Simple. Make sure you have balance before the interview. And by balance I mean just what some of the other posters have said. Eat right, no caffeine, exercise that morning, and for added bonus i like to do two things for interviews. 1) watch whatever type of humor videos on YouTube that gets you laughing. 2) always go into the interview with a decent amount of cash in your pocket. (That part gets trickier as you make more money but for me a few hundred bucks in $20s does the trick) don't ask me why I think it helps, it just does.

Actually, probably. The fact that you can't go sit and talk to another human being without your first thought of needing xanax, yes. You can't interact in a typical social situation without a coping mechanism crutch.

for a junky who doesn't have social skills?

No they wouldn't. Only a pill head thinks this. Your head isn't clear. And anyone who states,
unable to find a Xanax/Valium/Klonopin on such short notice, sounds like someone needing to score more than a person who needs it for a real medical reason.

I would recommend .25mg just to take edge off. Not .5

Have you ever considered that it is normal to be nervous in this situation? The interviewer expects that.
Try using the pair in between your legs to get you through situations like this like men did in the past, rather than depending on drugs to fix mild discomfort.

I get nauseated in high anxiety situations. Just started happening a few years ago when I had to do a class presentation. Not sure why it just started a few years ago, before that I'd give speeches in front of class with no problems. Now I just try keeping my mind occupied with things other than what's making me nervous.
