If golf is your hobby, and really only hobby, and you and your 4 some travel, those things are fantastic.

GMC Envoy XUV

Probably more useful than a standard Envoy, but very clearly a product of the "real SUV" era. They were trying to figure out just how many trucks they could build on that chassis. Didn't matter if the features were kind of gimmicky....they sold rapidly.

I always found them to be a really unattractive vehicle. Didn't know about the 8 foot bed. Still would never want to own one.

Aesthetics are the only goal Chevy had in mind.

That makes it even worse, because that vehicle is ugly as shite.

Yeah a lot of trucks are status symbols today. I don't even think most F250s leave the pavement anymore.

Can't imagine why any baw would ever buy this truck unless they really want to drive a truck around town and have never owned one.

A good vehicle is never useless even with weird features.

Mercedes used to sell a car with a windshield wiper on the headlights.

Not a good choice if you're hauling things in bulk. Great for storing stuff out of the weather and away from opportunistic thieves. I've transported guns, fishing equipment, camping gear, tools, etc. I wish they still made them.

They do, it's called a Rolling Lock bed cover for a regular pick-up.

Serious question - would a crew cab Chevrolet 1500 w/ a bed cover not have done the same thing?

Since he can do all the same shite in a mini van w/better gas mileage I guess that 1500 is useless too ehh?

That's a bingo. It's on a minivan chassis that can't be used off road. It can't tow anywhere near as much as a Silverado or F150, but it gets the same crappy gas mileage.

It's actually pretty capable for a "light truck" and absolutely can be taken off road. Are you going to be able to rock climb? No. But you aren't going to be screwed if you have to drive around a pasture or on shitty dirt back roads either. For 99% of anything a normal person is going to be doing it's just fine. Not sure why you are comparing it's towing capacity to a full sized truck either. It's not competing with those. It's going against smaller trucks like the Colorado.

Also not sure why so many get all twisted up over short bed pickups. They aren't meant to do the work of a full sized trucks so ripping them for not having the specs of something that is technically meant to be used as a work vehicle is silly. That would be like saying Focus is useless b/c it can't carry as much as a Taurus.

It isn't just you, they look like a vehicle designed as a joke.
