Worked as a bj dealer right after I finished college at an Indian casino. Wonderful job for a 24 year old. Hot cocktail waitresses and drunk dealers and after hours bars are a hell of a combination. Got moved up to a suit after a couple years but then found the future Mrs BB and those days ended.

but 600 bucks was enough to make him rethink his decision

The guy checking IDs doesn't give two fricks that your girlfriend was up $600. First off, the guy checking IDs or the casino manager isn't getting dinged if the casino loses money. Second off, $600 is less than a drop in the bucket. There is no reason for him to care.

Next morning I checked and he lost right around $375K (mostly slots with about hour of blackjack)

That is incredible. $375k on slots. WRF?

I’d save myself 100’s of $1000’s and just get like 3 hookers at a time. It would be a much more fulfilling style of slot.

ok, lets say youre right. i suppose the obvious question would be why the sudden change of heart when he realized moneys walking out of the casino? why offer to let us stay if he A) as chickenshit as it may be, has me with an expired license, and B) im no high roller and hes under no obligation to?

take this from me cause i was there, the answer is he was doin his job when he wouldnt let me in with an expired license just like he was doin his job when he saw an opportunity to stop money walkin out. if he told me to frick off he already got my money for dinner and the hotel. but when the gf walks up all happy with money and a "whats happening right now doesnt matter" attitude he changed up. i understand alot of money, more than 600, changes hands in casinos and the house wins. do you understand this is how the house wins? by helping you lose your winnings?

I knew a guy who was cruising along working in a finance degree at L.S.U. When the Belle of Baton Rouge opened, he dropped out to be a casino dealer. That’s a crazy story if I ever heard one.

Definitely believable

My dad is a high limit slot player and used to routinely see John Daly playing the $500 machine at horseshoe tunica . It’s a 2 credit machine. $1,000 a pop. After a few hours yeah those rack up.

Never worked at one, but I do have stories.

Some years back, they were broadcasting those nighttime golf matches between well-known golfers. In one of them, John Daly played Tiger Woods (somewhere out in Arizona?). By the end of the match, Tiger had won by a decent margin, but off camera, John and Tiger had a steady string of side bets going - longest iron shot. First one to fart on the backswing, who made the longest putt, who missed the shortest, longest address before swinging the driver, bla bla bla. Anyhow, when the evening ended John pocketed 3 million dollars of Tiger's money on side bets.

He left and went to Silver Star Caino at Choctaw MS. I have a good friend who deals high limit Blackjack there. He said John played for two days and lost every penny he had won from Tiger. Back in those days, JOhn spent a lot of time at The Silzer Star and Golden Moon. My friend says win-or-lose, John is a very good tipper.

My friend could play a dealer in a James Bond movie. He is the textbook example of a high stakes dealer. As far as I can tell, he makes a lot of money from folks who have a lot to lose. I always laugh at the thought of the Choctaws getting back every dollar the white man ever cheated them out of.

He says every so often, a group of Japanese Gamblers will roll into town and gamble virtually 24 hours a day for three days and then roll out. They hardly ever spoke English, although it was plain they understood it very well.

I was there one night watching my friend deal to a single player, a heavy set guy, who looked like a Chinese businessman. The guy never said a word in the thirty or forty minutes I watched. The casino had two floor guys in suits maybe thirty feet on either side of the table who watched, hands behind their backs, sort of like military parade rest. The blackjack player had a wad of cash that would choke a Saudi Prince and he was consistently losing big time. The lie I will tell is in the forty minutes I watched, he last well over a hundred thousand. All of a sudden, he held his hand up, peeled off a few hundred dollar bills, tossed them to my friend, and walked away. When he left, the casino suit guys left and my friend pulled his drawer and left. My friend later told me the guy showed up every six months or so and usually was a very good card counter. He also said they would let him play as long as he lost, but the moment he started winning, they would throw him out. He said the guy would dress differently, do his hair differently and all sorts of stuff to try to hide his identity, but pretty much every casino in the country knew him and usually ID'ed him within a few minutes. My friend liked him because it was all business with the guy and he tipped well.

We were at Beau Rivage in Biloxi to see Cirque a few years back. We went to the will call window to pick up our tickets and stood in line for thirty minutes as the line creeped forward slower than a snail. I could see across the floor to the thousand-dollar slot machine deck. It was empty except for what I still think was one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. She was playing three machines and looked bored enough to die if it were possible to just take a breath and check out. I never saw her win anything, and never saw her pause from feeding chips into those machines. Had I thought there would be any chance of her saying yes, I would have happily taken her to the Waffle House on Beach Blvd and bought her some fried eggs, hashbrowns and wheat toast.

Had a customer in Gulfport I played a lot of golf with back then. One of his good friends was a big shot in one of the casinos and they played a lot of morning golf. They played maybe three mornings a week, same Tee Time, same guys in their foursome. MY customer said usually on the fourth or fifth hole, his friend would get a phone call from the casino. He said the only thing the friend want to know was what the take was. He had no interest in what the casino cleared, only in the take. He told my customer if he knew the take, he could tell you how much profit they cleared within a couple of thousand dollars. That is what a money making machine casinos actually are. I always said they love it when a slot machine hits big and the lights flash as the bells ring our and the siren goes off. That celebration indicates they have cleared XX million dollars since the previous big hit.

Never been a dealer but one summer school session the AC was broken for a couple weeks so after class I’d nap in the main building where the PO Boxes used to be and once 6pm rolled around I’d go waste my time and sometimes my money at the boats.

This one dude was a slightly older college aged kid maybe 23-25 and everytime I was there, he was telling people of his grift. He’d enroll in classes and then go gamble away his tuition.

So every night I saw heeem it was “wishin’ for tuition!” Dude never won and was probably one of those floaters in the Mississippi River

Used to work at hospital in lake Charles. 2 hookers called the front desk of the isle of Capri saying the guy didn’t look to good. Mid 60’s guy had bought 2 hookers and took a whole bottle of viagra. (Back when it first came on the market). He didn’t follow directions and took it with Meds you definitely shouldn’t combine and his blood alcohol was also very elevated. (Shocking, I know)
Couldn’t get his blood pressure up for shite. Still had a semi though.
Had an MI. Never really regained consciousness.
Was awkward when the family got there.
The number of drunks that stroke out there was fairly impressive. Or take a header down the stairs.
