But not. He's a tremendous marketer of poor economic decisions and has done great harm to many unsuspecting people. I don't think he truly believes all he sells.

I don't agree with everything Ramsey says, but there is certainly validity to his principles, particularly for those who are not financially wise and have previously made bad decisions.
I don't know of anyone who was "harmed" by his teachings.

big car notes, $500+ minimum.
Seriously, that's idiotic.
We're about to pass on a house because the flood insurance is a bit less than that.
$500 a month for a car?!?

$697/mo right now. I'll have plenty of time to drive a reasonable car when I'm married with kids.

Nissan had a lease deal on electric Leafs, that if you lived in the Georgia and combined it with Georgia tax credits, you could drive it for just about free.
Some of my buddies who are in consulting had their firm put it in EV charging stations at their employment site. In comparison to what a standard gas enginer car would cost to operate, they were getting paid when you consider their employer footed the electricity bill
We work in statistics so as you can imagine their entire department leased Nissan Leafs and had crunched the numbers to show savings by commute distance

I don't follow Dave Ramsey but he isn't an idiot. You can come out ahead in all financial dealings but 99% of people aren't smart enough to understand how to execute it. Dave Ramsey is for that 99% and for people who want to sustain a lifestyle, not jump up a few rungs on the ladder

I was doing Dave Ramsey before he was, I can assure you, you are dead wrong.....in 15 years my net worth went from negative 100k to a fairly substantial sum, enough that I even have some extra to race thoroughbred horses ( I know its not very smart to be in the horse business btw). Ive also put back enough to put three kids through college and plan to retire by 50

With practically free financing I don't see any reason to put cash down on a vehicle. It is the cheapest money you can borrow. If you have good enough credit to get 1.8% - 3.9% financing then borrow all they will let you... well as much as fits within whatever budget you have set for yourself.
$520, 1.8% for 60.

I have a $300/mo at 0% but I will never have another one again. It's not breaking me but I just think about all the things I would rather do with that money.

I see this a lot and don't think people realize how much it costs to live for 35 years with no income.....just healthcare as you get older for a married couple is going to be outrageous

Try Dave's plan and you wont just say it, but actually do it......I already have all I need to retire. I am working at this point, while I figure out what I want to do when I retire.....right now I have narrowed it down to Colorado or Sailing the Caribbean

Don't ya get shafted on the low pricing incentives if you choose the 0% route, so in the end it's a wash?
