It’s been my experience that the multituse items like the fatmax aren’t durable. The air compressor motor will overheat and the battery won’t hold enough charge to jump a dead battery.

Had several, no issues with any of them.

Since when?

Within the past few years. Try finding one now. You may can find an old stock one, but they are just selling off inventory. I use one, a Schumaker manual, for electrolysis. There is a work around for using an automatic, but it is a pain in the arse and kind of sketchy. Folks are buying power supplies for electrolysis now.

Clore Automotive Jump-N-Carry JNC660.

I've had mine for 3 years and I've jumped off countless vehicles with it. It's a straight up jump off device and does not have any of the other stuff on it, which is exactly what I wanted. Also most automotive shops use this unit opposed to the other ones on the market.

It is also built like a tank and has #2 AWG cables for it's leads.

Usually pick one up when Sam's has them on sale. Almost have one for every car.

Yes, one in every vehicle. You can get a good one for around $50. I use the small ones that will fit under a seat. Recharge after every use.

They have stopped making manual battery chargers. That pisses me off

Yeah this started a few years back. I worked at a NAPA store for years and we had to use an outside supplier to have one in stock. None of the suppliers directly through NAPA had one available anymore. NAPA’s are privately owned though so we had the flexibility to find a supplier. They’re hard to find though.

JNC’s are good, as are the “Booster PAC” line by Solar. I told a ton of ES5000 and ES2500 at NAPA.

I have the NOCO for the v8 and keep it in my MDX. I don't carry cables anymore and if someone needs a jump, I use it instead.

Another vote for Noco. I have the GB40 as well and it's come in handy several times. I've had mine for 3 years and just leave it in the trunk. I just make sure the charge is full in the fall/winter and after I use it.

Yeah, Stanley Fat Max, got it at Sam's. Pretty handy. Have helped several with it.

Same. Also used it to inflate tires on several occasions.
