Church for sale

quote:

This is it, this is THE ONE! Less than a mile off the Spanish Town parade route and connecting Mid City, Spanish Town, and Downtown sits the diamond in the rough you have been waiting to purchase. Located in the Mid-City Cultural District and once home to the Greater New Guide Baptist Church, this historic church is ready to get polished into so many options. This could be Baton Rouge’s newest event venue, restaurant, brewery, outreach center and beyond. If you can dream it, this property is ready to be it. With historical tax and opportunity zone credits available this one should be at the top of your “must see” list!

I pass by it daily. There’s a lot of development going on in the area.

If you could buy up and purge the undesirable elements out of the area it would be ripe for gentrification.

I have a name for it.

"Soul Redemption Chicken"

"Delicious southern fried chicken served with delicious southern sides in the house of the Lord."

The church is the people. You'd be buying a building.

I wonder if they have an AC in it? Some of those black folk churches don't have AC.

That's a beautiful building and I hope it gets renovated into something nice. I'd love a good restaurant there to hit up for lunch.

I'm glad someone else sees this potential.

On a related note, does anyone else find the Elysian's situation so close to the street problematic with that stop sign placement and the cars always parked beside it on Spanishtown Road?

Wasn't some purple-hair type trying to make this into some sort of hostel a year or three ago?
